Prepare for your Next Class Reunion!
Whether it's been 5 years or a whopping 50, high school reunions are a fun opportunity to reminisce about days gone by. In addition to seeing old friends, high school reunions allow you to strut your stuff. Looking and feeling your best are key to a rewarding reunion. Read on to learn how to prepare for your next high school reunion.
Preparing for your High School Reunion!
So the big day is approaching and you have no idea where to begin. Why not start with clothing? Decide what you will wear. For females, you may want to head to the department store that day for a mini makeover and the beauty salon for a tan or hair style. If this is not possible, practice doing your own hair and makeup ahead of time. Shop for different outfits that will be appropriate for the season. If this is a casual reunion, you do not have to place a lot of emphasis on appearance as shorts and a T-shirt may do just fine.Determine what activities you will be asked to participate in, whether games, entertaining or bringing a dish to pass. Have as much as you can planned out ahead of time. If you are cooking, determine what food tastes and allergies everyone has. Have recipes on hand to pass out in case you are asked.
If there is a financial obligation, be sure you have the money to cover the costs and send in your payment or reply by the deadline. There is often an incentive for replying early.
Gather together any photos and place in an album, scrapbook, computer or hand held electronic device. If you have videos, be sure you have a place you can play them. Make sure camera batteries are charged or you have extras, you have tape, there is film or room on your memory card. This is an important day you do not want to miss.
Plan for emergencies. Carry extra nylons or incidentals or clear nail polish in case there are runs.
Get lots of rest the night before and set out well before the time you need to arrive. This will alleviate your stress and nerves.
Go on the Internet and check out sites such as Classmates and Reunion for the latest updates on everyone. This can be a lot of fun and will give you a sneak preview of many people.
Giving yourself a Makeover for the Reunion!
Dedicate yourself to an exercise regime. In the months leading up to the big event, tone up, burn some calories and get physically fit. You'll not only look better, but you'll feel more confident.Splurge on a stylish outfit. Don't break the bank, but treat yourself to some flattering new duds that accentuate your assets.
Pay a visit to your hairdresser. Update your look with a new cut or color. Whatever you choose, make sure it's different from the style you had in high school. If you're not ready to lop off those locks, opt for a trendy up-do.
Define yourself professionally. Even if you're in-between jobs and not exactly sure of your career path, prepare an impressive response. You're likely to be asked what you do for a living more than once.
Count your blessings and your bragging rights. From your perfect children to that marathon you ran, recall your many accomplishments. You'll want to mention these things at the reunion.

- Thanks for your warm welcome and great comment! I didn't know if this would be a good lens or not, I just thought of this lens because I have my reunion this year and I thought that most people want to put their best foot forward, and might need to brush up on some things. Thanks again for making me feel welcomed

- Welcome to Squidoo -- a pretty great lens for a newbie! This is very topical in that it's definitely class reunion time -- I went to my 25th, but not sure if I'll do another. It was quite interesting and I definitely could have used some preparation like you suggest in this lens!
