Get Your Kids Outdoors Enjoying The Spring Weather:

Spring Has Finally Arrived (It's About Time!) You can be sure to to set aside sometime with your children at home or in your preschool classroom to enjoy the weather.

Yes, kids love winter (usually) but, the lack of sunshine in the winter time can make for some miserable days and some miserable moods.

It's important get your kids outside for some fun preschool activities!
With Spring finally here, your kids will be eager to get outside and play. Physical activity is great for young kids--we could all probably use a bit more activity in our daily lives.

Here are some great preschool activities to use with your kids outside.

Nature Walk: You could help your children to observe all the sounds of nature by going on a nature walk in the springtime or any time of the year really. Children can observe all the animals, birds, squirrels, rabbits, frogs and what other creatures you may find.

You could show them what a Robin for example looks like and how these mean spring is here.

You could explain to your preschoolers how soon Tulips will come up from flower beds, where they may have been planted, which is another sign of Spring.

Even on a rainy day you could explain how often times spring time weather involves rain and what rain is.

You could explain how the grass (which may be brown and lifeless due to a long cold winter) will soon turn 'Green' and many other flowers and leaves on trees will appear as spring continues to bring new life to these plants and trees.

Out Door Cleanup: You could have the children get outside and help do a clean up. You could talk about how we can help the animals and the environment by cleaning up litter and cleaning up the yard or preschool playground.

This is a great physical activity for children and a perfect time to instill respect for living creatures and the environment into their young lives.

Spring Time Activities & Spring Themes:

You could continue your indoor activities on a springtime theme using different springtime printables. For example spring theme printables showing tulips, robins, rain clouds and other spring related activities.

There is also spring or weather related preschool songs etc. Use your imagination and listen to what the children are saying and talking about and this way you can build on ideas to help improve their preschool learning.
