When maintenance or facilities management implements a CMMS several things will begin to happen. The first is that your organization makes a commitment to knowing where all your assets are and the condition they are in. The second most important thing that occurs is when maintenance managers realize that by automating manual processes and scheduling work using their CMMS system they suddenly have more time available.This is all accomplished by using the CMMS to create a database of all asset detail including location, description, serial number, date purchased, cost as well as all associated vendor information and asset documentation. Once the asset detail is loaded into the CMMS, assets can then be scheduled for preventive maintenance
, inspections and repairs without filling out paper forms.
