Looking After Your Health

Your health has never been more important than at present and with the NHS increasingly being criticised you need the peace of mind that your health is going to be taken care of in the future. More people are considering other options for their healthcare by taking out private medical insurance, giving you that additional security for when the need arises for healthcare and medical treatment. Medical advances in both treatment and surgical procedures, although beneficial to us, result in added pressure on the NHS, which in turn increases the time on waiting lists for specialist consultations and surgical procedures. With your health being an important aspect of your quality of life it is equally important to find a healthcare policy that is right for you and consider whether private medical insurance would be beneficial to you. As with all insurance policies you get what you pay for, with free healthcare on the NHS you must weigh up the pros and cons, many people are put off private medical insurance as sometimes it proves too costly, some research often helps to decide whether it would be the right option for you.

Personal Service

We aim to take the stress out of securing Private Medical insurance by offering you a dedicated and personal service to ensure that we find the most beneficial level of insurance for your requirements and most importantly your budget. We have access to hundreds of healthcare policies from some of the UK's leading medical insurers including Axa, Bupa and Saga plus many more. Through your application we will access which level of medical insurance would be most suitable. Lenders generally have two main types of cover, these being comprehensive and budget, with many also offering a standard policy. The cost of private medical insurance is all dependent on the benefits you wish to receive through your policy or understandably the level of cover may be determined by your financial circumstances and what you can afford, therefore a budget cover would be less expensive than a comprehensive cover. So we aim to find a policy that would be beneficial to you on terms which are affordable to you. Your application will be processed quickly and efficiently. If you are unsure about the terms and conditions of Private Medical Insurance please complete an application form where you will be able to ask one of our lenders directly about concerns you may have.

Advantages of Private Medical Insurance

Private Medical insurance ensures that the cost of medical treatment for acute conditions such as an illness, injury or disease is covered privately by your insurance policy instead of being paid for by the NHS. Having an insurance policy in place has many advantages over the NHS such as avoiding lengthy delays for consultations and hospital treatments, for non urgent surgical procedures you can expect to wait anything up to one year with the NHS. Some policies give you the option of choosing your own specialist and hospital at a time that is convenient to you. If you have a stay in hospital you have the advantage of unrestricted visiting times with private rooms. Private Medical Insurance is there to ensure you get the care and treatment as and when it is needed.

Disadvantages of Private Medical Insurance

With the advantages come a number of disadvantages that must be taken into consideration when taking out Private Medical Insurance. You must be aware that your policy does not cover all medical conditions, whether you have comprehensive or budget insurance there are certain conditions, most policies will not cover long term or terminal illnesses and you cannot generally claim for a pre-existing condition such as heart disease. You must always know exactly what you are buying, if you are unsure please ask. Private Medical Insurance costs are higher now due to the increased number of claims but some lenders will offer a fixed price to ensure you know exactly what your payments will be. Many private hospitals rely on specialists from the NHS so even though you have paid for Private Cover, the level of treatment carried out depends on the availability of the specialists.
