Where to begin?

So much to talk about!

'Products From New Zealand' is a wholesaler and retailer of unique and interesting products. They offer New Zealand native artifacts, books, Clothing, jewelry, stationery, cosmetics and much much more for those people who are 'bored' with mass produced products so common in large retail stores today.

Most of the products are handmade, in limited numbers, and are often signed by the artist on the back of the item.

These products are ideal for you to spoil yourself, or your loved ones with, and for those persons 'who already have everything', and are difficult to shop for......

Products From New Zealand.com is established as a premier Internet destination for things that are unique, and, in most cases, very difficult and expensive to find elsewhere on the planet.

If you are looking for a quality product at a bargain price, you've come to the right place! Not only are most of the products unique and hard to find, but they are also very affordable.

The products have been conveniently sorted into categories for easy browsing - or - if you have something in mind already, use the Search Our Catalogue feature.

Maori Arts and Crafts

The Maori people are the indigenous people of our country. They are a very proud and courageous race of people.

Before the arrival of the European people to New Zealand, stories and legends were passed down orally, as well as through carvings and weaving. The history, traditions, language and religion of the Maori make up an integral part of the carving art. To the Maori, all things possess a spirit (wairua), and a mauri (life force).

If you would like to read more about this wonderful culture of people, Click Here!

Maori arts and crafts are a very dominant and special part of New Zealand culture for these reasons. Using New Zealand bone, pounamu (also called jade or greenstone, which is highly prized and in limited supply), and pearl shell (or paua), they carve practical items like fish-hooks, azes; and also ceremonial items like jewelry in wonderful tribal designs.

New Zealand Maori of today also carve modern shaped carvings to compliment the traditional carvings designs, like whale, shark, and turtle.

Products from New Zealand does a superb effort in showcasing quality, hand-made and reasonably priced crafts (in my opinion)!

I'll show you below some of my favourite examples, with links, to give you an idea of what i'm talking about! (I've put each in a different section for easy viewing!)

Oh, and by the way, every carving comes with a traditional style cord, a woven flax presentation bag and a description of the meaning or story behind the design. Perfect!

Bone Carvings

The Manaia is probably the most well-known of bone carvings. The top section is one of the more ancient mythical beings with a bird's head and a human form.

The Manaia is regarded as a kind deity protecting the people and helping them communicate with ancestors on the other side. It is also a holder of great spiritual energy and is a guardian against evil.

I bought my fiance a greenstone Manaia, to wear to work as a Deputy Sheriff, fitting really!

To order your own unique Manaia, Click Here!
It will cost you about $100US.

Don't forget, every carving comes with a traditional style cord, a woven flax presentation bag and a description of the meaning or story behind the design. Perfect!

Click below to go directly to the Bone Carvings section to check out all other designs.

Beautiful Greenstone

Greenstone is such a majestic and almost magical stone. It is believed that a carving which is worn with respect or given and received with love, takes on part of the spirit of those who wear or handle it. This makes greenstone a unique gift that can be passed down through your family for generations to come.

By being gifted in this way, the Maori people believe it becomes a spiritual link between people spanning time and distance. A carving that has been worn by family or tribal members over many generations contains the spirit of all of those people and is truly a great and powerful treasure.

New Zealand Greenstone is also known as "Jade" or "Pounamu" in Maori. The beauty of Pounamu is unsurpassed with its semi translucent look and swirls of green.

It is predicted that the source of greenstone will soon run out, so, if you are interested in securing a treasure for your family heirloom, at a reasonable price, then now is the time to purchase ... Click below!

This Hei Matau (Hook) Pendant is a stylised fish hook jade carving which represents prosperity, abundance, fertility and strength. It is also seen as a good luck charm, particularly for those traveling over water. Hei-Matau are symbols of power and authority which are held in great reverence by the Maori people.

This one will set you back about $200US, but is a priceless and unforgettable gift that will be remembered for years to come! CLICK HERE to get yours now!

Maori Motif Silver Jewelry

All hand-made of course!

All of these New Zealand Maori and Pacific Island jewelry designs are created in sterling silver.
Each item is an individually hand made piece of jewelry of the highest quality. You can get men's and woman's bracelets, rings, earrings, brooches, even a koru bookmark!

The makers of this jewelry offer this to customers,

"The wearer is given this positive energy from ages gone by and re-created for the present in the purity of silver. To all who wear one of these handmade Maori motif silver jewelry creations, we offer this positive energy in all they do and hope they will accept it and pass it on whenever possible to those around them."

Some of my fav's:

STERLING SILVER KOWHAIWHAI EARRINGS
They have a carved kowhaiwhai design along the top of the earrings. Kowhaiwhai means the continuous koru pattern painted on the rafter (ribs) of a Maori meeting house. The Koru part represents growth and life. $53.95US (Reg. $73.95).

STERLING SILVER KORU BOOKMARK
The 'Koru' design signifies growth and longevity, and means 'A fern unfolding' in English. A popular gift at only $26.95US, great way to save a page in your favourite book!

PAUA AND SILVER KORU BRACELET
The 'Koru' design signifies growth and longevity. Imagine wearing this stunning bracelet on your wrist to your next social function, everyone will love it (trust me)! Costs $178.95US, save $26!

THERMAL MUD PAMPER PACK
Rotorua Thermal Mud is excellent for use in regenerative skin care as the clays have a very strong affinity for moisture. Thermal mud on drying will generate heat, increasing the blood circulation and perspiration which helps eliminate toxins and other wastes. The clay surface is highly active and will easily absorb excess oils and fatty secretions from within the skin pores. Detoxifying and purifying the mud dries on the skin promoting regeneration of new cells. The sulphur acts as an antibacterial agent assisting in the prevention and elimination of acne.

This Thermal Mud Pamper Pack contains Thermal Mud Moisturizer, Face Scrub and Face Pack, and is a great buy at only $13.95US.

PAUA FLAX BASKET
Beneath the waters of New Zealand the native shellfish Paua, a species of Abalone unique to New Zealand, is found. Paua is highly valued for its therapeutic qualities. For many centuries Chinese natural medical experts have promoted Abalone as a seafood rich in minerals and vitamins for vitality, improved eyesight and heath enhancement of the liver and the spleen.
Paua is high in energy and is extremely rich in concentrated marine proteins and vitamins.

Over the years research has found protein extracted from marine sources is extremely rich in elastin. Incorporated into a skincare product it is able to help restore the skin elasticity and tone, minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and prevent the visable signs of premature ageing.

Happy Customers

"I am so happy that I purchased the possum wool black button front sweater for my wife.

She has almost lived in it since its arrival. I am amazed at how warm she is and how durable the weave is. It doesn't show any wear at all despite playing with our dogs in it and doing lots of odd jobs around the house.

The other products such as the knit house slippers are also great."
