Professional Car Wax is the Secret Ingredient to a Showroom Shine

Professional car wax will make any car look like it belongs in a showroom. People of all ages are drawn to the mirror-like finish. You can get that highly polished look for your own car, without paying a lot of money to have it detailed. By using a professional car wax, you can achieve the same effect right at home.

Online research is the most important first step to determine the difference in professional car wax brands. You'll find that a lot of inexpensive brands don't work very well, but many costly brands aren't worth what you have to pay for them. For superior results, always use nonabrasive waxes.

The ABCs of a Professional Car Wax

Then, thoroughly wash your car. Dirt is hard to find on a wet car, so it's a good idea to wash it twice. Before applying any wax, make sure your car is completely dry first. Hot, sunny days are not a good time to wash and wax your car. It will help to park your car in the shade if it is sunny.

Dampen a sponge and squirt a small amount of professional car wax onto it. Use roughly one tablespoon at a time. On each section of the car, rub the wax in using a circular clockwise motion. Return to the first area where you started, after completely covering the car with the professional car wax.

By this time, the professional car wax you applied when you started will be dry. A very soft cloth to remove wax is a cloth baby diaper. A towel made of terry cloth works well also. To buff the wax off your car, rub in small circles in the opposite direction than you used to apply the wax. Use a fairly firm pressure and make sure you buff off all the wax. Change to a clean cloth every once in a while in order to prevent re-applying the professional car wax onto the surface. Otherwise you risk ending up with streaks in your car's finish when you're all done.

After you're done, go over the whole car one more time with a fresh towel or cloth. Hidden streaks or wax spots are eliminated this way. Wax left on a car more than two hours can damage the finish, even if it's a professional car wax. So be sure you work fast enough to get all the wax off. It is important to be very thorough.

Finishing Touches

When you're all done you may find marks on your finish that weren't removed, but going over these spots again with the professional car wax will usually do the trick. Rub on another coat of wax to the spot, and then let it dry. Then buff off the wax, and if you're still not satisfied with the results you can repeat the process. When you're all done, wash the cloths and towels so that they can be reused. To keep from scratching your car next time next time you use them, use a fabric softener in the wash.

A Little Effort Pays Off

It's actually very simple to get a show room shine on your car. All it takes is a little elbow grease and some spare time. And using a high quality professional car wax will guarantee you get the results you're looking for.
