The game was developed by Level-5 for the Nintendo DS, and is the first installment of the Professor Layton series. The game was released in Japan, and was later released in North America and Europe.

I was trying one of the old "move two match sticks to get this shape" sort of puzzle and was completely stumped. I couldn't give up either, but I didn't want to stay up all night. So I got out my matches and tried it in the real world. Took about five minutes. :)
oh professor i think i love you teeheehee:) Awesome, he's so cute! I love when he solves a puzzle and points.

A friend of mine can't decide which game to get. She has all of the 3 pheonix wright series and really likes them and i wasnt sure if i should tell her to get Apollo Justice or Professor Layton. 2 VERY awesome games.....Tough choice, no doubt.
If you had to ONLY get one, which one would it be?

Professor Layton it is a really bugging game. You can't put it down. It will bug you to keep going and some of the puzzles just drive you crazy to get. I love this game. I have had it since Christmas and I started it a few days after. I got five games and wanted to try them all out a little to see which one I wanted to do first. Now I am on the 6th floor of the tower with the 7 squares to make. It is driving me crazy. I can't get this one yet! Arrrrr!

If you have all the Wright games get Apollo. The game is just that much fun. Layton is a brain game but really isn't all that challenging.

- Hi. Only one square (the top-left square) is horizontal. All the others are diagonal. Some are 45 degrees diagonal, although most aren't. Um, it's difficult to explain. Let me do a Google image search... I found this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_qozgm0W_-kE/R8ikAP6WyhI/AAAAAAAAEUg/JAHmmlv2rKQ/s320/100ST.gif
Hope that helps. :)
