Give your brain a rigorous workout
Puzzles include brain teasers, sliding puzzles, logic puzzles and others. The player is presented with the puzzle and the value of the puzzle in "picarats", and is given unlimited time to solve it. Each puzzle has three hints available for it, but the player must spend one "hint coin" to see each hint. Hint coins are limited; the player starts with ten. (Continue reading...)

Professor Layton: Diabolical Box? - YE or NAY
First game was too easy, so is this one worth it?
My friend played the first game and was somewhat disappointed by the puzzles. She says the story is fine, for the most part but she was able to predict a lot of the plot twists so that kinda took the fun out of it. For her, the only puzzles that were really challenging were the bonuses.... So is this game any better?

If you didn't enjoy the first game, this one is exactly the same, so you will be disappointed. I thought the first game was harder, but that might just be me. Then again, I'm only up to the part where the train enters the tunnel so maybe someone who's played further can answer better.

Puzzles that have defeated you
Not that you didn't solve it (cause they give you the answers), but puzzles where the question was clear, you knew what you needed to find, but you got it wrong. The horses with different speeds puzzle just defeated me.

I imported Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box for the DS and it finally arrived today - Soon enough I was already addicted and all other games and hobbies are taking a back seat while I work my puzzle solving mojo!!
