Making money with Clickbank

Clickbank is one of the larger online marketplaces where people can list their product and affiliate marketers can select products they wish to promote.

Clickbank has over 10000 different products in all types of categories that you can choose to promote.

All products are digital, meaning direct download and no shipping.

Most commissions that you receive for selling a product are 75% of the sale meaning you get $75 for every $100 sale you make. Nice hey?

Cheques are sent out every 2 weeks and I have received over $1000 from Clickbank already in affiliate commissions.

This is the key.
Finding a product is the easy part, now you need to find a way to reach people so you can convince them to buy it or find people who are already looking for the product and guide them to it through your affiliate link.

There are many many ways to promote a product, and I'll cover some of the basic ones so you get an idea of how you can do it.

1-) Article marketing:

This means writing articles of 250-500 words about the product you are promoting, and then submitting it to article directories like
Ezine Articles or GOarticles
and then hoping they appear on the first pages of search engines so people will find them when doing their online searches.

2-) Squidoo

Squidoo is a good place to make a lens about a product you are promoting, or a topic you like and include the product in the topic.
Squidoo gets high rankings in search engines and has a massive amount of users...and it's totally FREE!

3-) Buy your own domain

Buy a domain and create a web page about the product or topic you are promoting.
The beauty about your own web page is that you are in charge of the design and layout and content, so you can create your own masterpiece

Starting off 9 months ago knowing absolutely nothing about internet marketing, I have come a far way and learnt many things, but I'm nowhere near to making the kind of money I want from online. It is definitely possible to make money with Clickbank

I have played a little with the above 4 methods of promoting products, most of my affiliate sales came from Squidoo and my own webpages, about 50/50.

I only have 4 products that are selling well, on a constant basis.

My experience with PPC is not really worth mentioning, I used about $200 to buy traffic, and i made a little more than that, but I must admit I didn't know anything about PPC and was messing around. Lately I have been studying it more and am soon going to start using it in a combination with my own domains.

I have made around $1300 from Clickbank sales since I started, so I am not totally unsatisfied, but the learning curve is steep!

It is one of the best feelings when I wake up in the morning and check my stats to see i made $25 or $50 while I was asleep, it puts a smile on my face all day.

What I have found is that my sales are irregular...sometimes nothing for days, and then 5 in a row. I am still learning and just bought myself a copy of CLICKBANK CODE which teaches how to use PPC and your own domains to make a heck of a lot of money from Clickbank.

So far it seems like an excellent product and what it taught me is much more than what I've learnt over the last months...now only to see if the results will come in also.

On the Clickbank home page, click on 'Marketplace'.

This allows you to search for products you want to promote.
You can even narrow your search by selecting a category, choosing the amount of results per page and how the results are displayed.

As an example I chose the keyword 'Dating', sorted by popularity.
This means the first result is the product that is making the most sales for the 'Dating genre' products.

$/Sale is the commission you get for making a single sale.

Gravity is a score that Clickbank assigns to each affiliate product according to their secret formula. It has to do with how many sales and how recently those sales have occurred.

The higher the gravity, the more popular the product and the easier it will be to sell...but keep in mind, easier to sell means more competition.

A hoplink is the affiliate link that will bring you money if you make a sale.

When you promote a product, and you send people to that product's selling page, you need to do that through a special link that is unique to your user ID on Clickbank.
This way, Clickbank can keep track of which sales are caused due to which affiliates and pay them their commission accordingly.

In the search result, choose the product you want to promote and click on 'Create Hoplink'.



Enter your Clickbank username.
The tracking ID is so that you can keep track of where the sale comes from in case you are promoting the same product on different web pages/ articles/PPC etc.

Click 'Create'



And now you have a link to promote the product GUYGETSGIRL.
So for example if you would CLICK HERE you would get taken to the GUYGETSGIRL pitch page, and if you purchased a copy, i would get a commission from that sale because you bought the product as a result of me sending you to that page.
