How to program M.U.G.E.N. the fighting engine

OK, Mugen is a large fighting game which is tons of fun esp. if you love 2d fighting games. I'm going to tell you step by step on how to add characters to the game, add stages, and music.

1. Download winmugen from this websitehttp://unofficialwinmugen.jpn.org/ 

2.Download the characters you want for your mugen, after you done that put every character that you downloaded into your character folder in you mugen file, make sure that the each character is unzip.

3. Now you go to the data folder and go to where it say select.def, there you put down the name of the folder that the character is in, put it down like this charactername, stages/charactername.def. If your character does not work then go to that character folder and see if theres another folder containing that character files if so copy that folder and paste in your chars folder, then type the name of that character folder.

4. To add stages, download stages which you can find stages as easy as characters, after you do that go to select.def file in you data folder once again and go all the way to the bottom to where it says extra stages, put down the name of the stages like this, stages/nameofstage.def.

5. Now to add music what you need to do is go the the stage folder, and whatever music you want for that stage go to the stage def file and look to where it says music, and you put the mp3 file like this sound/nameofmusic.mp3 by the way make sure the song is in the sound folder.

6. Adding screen packs, what you need to do is download a screen pack once you downloaded the screenpack it should all be in one folder, what you do after that is switch the font with the font that came with the folder of the screenpack along with the data folder and plugins folder. Doing this watch out because if you rush it you might have to input all your characters back in on the select.

On the bottom there are some sites that you should go to, you might find some food characters,stages, and screenpacks.
