Project Car Restoration

Restoring project cars is an excellent way to relax -- and sometimes you can even make some money at it!

Project Cars

What's all the hubbub about?

Are you mechanically inclined? Do you like making beautiful things come to light? You might enjoy restoring cars; and you might be able to do some beautiful work, and even make some money.

Some people pick up cars at auction and turn around and sell them again with a better listing. However, with some small changes, you might do better than this. You could find an old Edsel in your grandfather's garage under a tarp, and find out that the rubber or plastic in the engine was rotted out.

What if you replaced the rotten nonelastic rubber and fixed up the wooden floorboards, either with wood and varnish or some sheetmetal and paint?

The sky really is the limit when you have a project car and a few things you can do to fix it up.

When all else fails, open a book

Ooh, and they have pretty pictures too

Pretty good start. As an old restorer, I'd like to see more.

Keeping it Clean

Cleanliness is important

It's important to keep your project car clean; to make it easier to work on it as well as to show it off. Look at this pristine engine. All the pieces are clean and colorful. It's really a great way to showcase your engine.

Nobody wants to muck with a dirt-encrusted oily carburator. Keeping it clean will show your professionalism and attention to detail.
