Improve Your Life With Self-Coaching

Life is too short not to start improving your life now. You don't need a complicated improvement system or lots of money to transform your life. All you have to do is identify the improvements you want and define the next step needed to move closer towards implementing those improvements.

I feel blessed to be able to make my living helping others improve their life. Our company, Project-Transform, also provides me with the time and resources to help others for free. This lens is intended to fulfill the same dual purpose of providing helpful improvement information and information about the services of our company.

Is Self-Coaching For You?

Do you...

  • Have a problem with expressing yourself?

  • Think that nobody's taking you seriously?

  • Feel like your life is going nowhere?

  • Often get commented on your negative attitude?

  • Believe you've hit a wall in your career or relationships?

  • If you answered YES to any of the questions above, self-coaching will be the most effective way for you to improve your life - permanently! With accurate information, enough resources and the right guidance, self-coaching can be your key to a better, more fulfilling life.

    What is Self-Coaching?

Self-coaching is all about changing your life, improving yourself and leaving your problems behind - all on your own terms. You have the steering wheel, and you decide where to go.

To help you get a clearer idea of what self-coaching is; here are a few things that it's not. With self coaching, you don't...

  • Expose your whole life to a stranger. No awkward questions, no aliases and no unnecessary details.

  • Rely on someone else to keep your program on track. You stay on the road to improvement, no matter where life takes you.

  • Conform to anyone else's expectations but your own. Take things at your own pace; make changes in your own time. It's your life, and you're in control.
  • How does Self-Coaching work?

Like traditional life coaching, self-coaching is also a process that takes time; it's no magic wand. But it can be more effective than relying on someone else because you're taking the direct route to real improvement. Below are the basic steps you can take.

    1. Classify your problem.
Identify your problem areas or give your issue a name. You always have to be aware of what you're up against.

    2. Outline a solution.
You don't waste time talking about your problems and go straight to solving them.

    3. Do something about it.
Once you have your plan of action, you run it in real life and see the results.

But it doesn't happen instantly just like that. You'll need some ammo in your fight against your old bad habits, too. You have to have ...

  • Literature.
Whether they're books or brochures, you need texts that will serve as your references at every step of the process.

  • Advice.
It's important to have someone who can help guide you and answer your questions at those critical points.

  • Tools and techniques.
You'll be more effective if you already know some of the established techniques for guiding yourself through change and self-improvement.

  • Project-Transform offers you all three - literature, advice and techniques - in our comprehensive self-coaching package. You'll be running the race alone, but we'll give you the best running shoes that will take you to the finish line.

Self-Coaching Exercise: What do you thirst for?

"Blessed Are Those Who Hunger and Thirst For Righteousness "
    Matthew 5:6

What do you thirst and hunger for in your life?

Our wants and needs affect the choices we make and the outcomes we create. It is important to fully know what drives you and the choices you make. What do you work towards during the day? Is your goal to get through the day or are you focused on reaching a specific goal? When I was younger my focus was getting through the day so that I could go to happy hour and meet new people. No matter how many people I met, I still did not feel satisfied. Nor did I have anything to show for my time except for a smaller bank account and a headache.

Most references to this saying are spiritually oriented. Are you at the level of your life where spiritual issues are important to you or are you more concerned with material goals? What you thirst and hunger for defines who you are in that it shapes the choices you make and the activities you perform. There is nothing wrong with material goals such as making more money. We all need to be able to pay our bills. The question to ask yourself is why you want more money. Will the money help you achieve your higher self or will it serve as a distraction to taking the actions you need to improve your life?

Are you truly aware of what you thirst for, or are you misplacing your efforts? For example, going out to bars and meeting people may be fun, but is it filling your thirst for companionship or is it distracting you from truly quenching your thirst?

    Improving Your Life Action Steps

    First Step

Improving your life begins with gaining control over your current obligations so that your daily activities can be as stress-free as possible. You can increase control through managing your open items and reducing distractions. Open items are tasks you have not started but think about doing, tasks you have left uncompleted, commitments that have not been fulfilled, and so on. Your mind is always aware of these items either consciously or unconsciously and therefore these open items are a constant energy drain. Completing open items frees up a tremendous amount of energy. Distractions are conditions in your life that prevent you from fully focusing on your present task. Removing distractions will allow you to get more done in a shorter time period. By actively managing your open items, you will reduce your levels of stress and worry
