Promote And Sell Your Music

Lets say that you are an indie music artist. And like most indie artist you have what you believe to be the next big hit or at least music that you made and believe will generate some kind of fan following and income in the near future. The problem is, you work a 9-5 job and don't have the time or money to book amazing venue or the know how to get your music into the ears of your target audience. Lets face it you won't develop a following playing hard rock music in a local country bar. I plan to help you figure out how to get your music into the ears of the people that would care to hear it with as little technical knowledge as possible.

I'm not going to tell you to buy and read a book. I'm not going to tell you to buy expensive music editing software. I'm not going to tell you to sell the rights to your music. I am not going to tell you to spend hours each day posting to every social network on the web.

I am going to cut through the garbage and I am going to tell you how to get your music out there. So pay attention.

What You Are Already Doing To Promote Your Music

Things that help but are not required...

web musicIf you are like most hard core indie rockers then you probably fit the stereotype of Sex, Drugs, and Rock'n Roll. The problem with this is that you are following this formula to the "T" when famous rockers and musicians followed this backwards. That's right they spent their time and money on music, then drugs and sex. If you are doing everything the first way you may want to change this otherwise you Will Fail and will always be know as the person that Failed and your family members will always say, "I told you so."

Now, on to what you may already be doing to get your music off the ground.
The short list.
1. Start a Facebook/Myspace fan page for your music.
2. Have someone create a website(free) for your music (band, group, etc.)
3. Play live shows as often as possible (in an appropriate venue).
