Propecia for hair loss
Propecia is the only FDA approved prescription medication for the treatment of male pattern baldness.
Over half the male population over their mid twenties experience hair loss in some form.
Most men experience the hair loss on the vertex and the anterior mid-scalp area.
Propecia can slow down the hair loss in these areas, prevent further hair loss or in some cases even wake up sleeping hair follicles and make the hair grow out again.
What is Propecia?
Propecia® (Finasteride) has been available in the UK since 1997, it is the first and only oral medication approved for the treatment of male pattern baldness.
Effective in around 80% of male patients for preventing further hair loss as well generating new growth on both the vertex and the anterior mid-scalp areas.
You can expect to see results within as little as 3 months of using Propecia, with hair growth likely to begin in around 6-12 months.
Although this treatment may not work for everyone many people who use it have achieved dramatic hair growth with many of these having a full head of hair within 5 years of using the medication.
