I work from home. My husband and I have an internet business selling button makers and supplies. Customers can come to our warehouse, but this is rare. If we go to the warehouse, we are dressed casual (jeans and nice shirt). No one comes to our home.

I don't think I have spent the entire day in my PJ's, but it's hard not to because you are so busy with work and making sure you eat. I'm usually so busy, I forget to eat:(
  • guardianstar77 May 9, 2012 @ 12:10 pm | delete
I know what you mean about forgetting to eat. Unfortunately, I'm usually reminded by my stomach growling. By that time, I'm starving and I will grab the quickest and easiest thing around to eat. It's usually junk food. Hence, I know what I am talking about with the butt-spread. LOL
  • fullofshoes Jan 13, 2012 @ 10:23 am | delete
Ohhhhh, you could have written this about me... the every-so-content hermit crab. Glad I am not alone in my cave. Wonderful lens!
  • guardianstar77 May 9, 2012 @ 12:08 pm | delete
I'll watch for you on the sand the next time I'm out of my shell. LOL
  • beaworkathomemom Jan 1, 2012 @ 8:19 pm | delete
I have worked many a day in my pajamas!
  • guardianstar77 May 9, 2012 @ 12:08 pm | delete
Just seems to make you more productive, doesn't it. Thanks for stopping by!

I love the idea for pajamas for work clothes.
I wear skirts instead pajamas. It's for comfort. When your short With my body type
pants even pajamas don't fit as well as skirts. Though sometimes I find well fitting velvet pants. I need some fuzzy socks.
  • guardianstar77 May 9, 2012 @ 12:07 pm | delete
Fuzzy socks are just "da bomb"! Couldn't survive without them.
  • A-Redneck Jun 16, 2011 @ 8:16 pm | delete
Lol...that is exactly my code of dress too. I was hoping when I clicked on the title that this is what you would feature on your lens. I am even wearing the fuzzy socks too.
  • guardianstar77 May 9, 2012 @ 12:06 pm | delete
Just couldn't survive cooler months (and it is ALWAYS cool in my house) without my beloved fuzzy socks!
  • thrivingmom Mar 5, 2011 @ 6:35 pm | delete
Nice lens, but I always get dressed. I feel yucky when I stay in my pj's and don't feel like getting work done. My routine: 1) wake up, 2) feed & dress kiddos, 3) drink coffee while checking emails & Squidoo stats, then 4) feed & dress me. =)
  • guardianstar77 Mar 9, 2011 @ 11:41 am | delete
It can be detrimental to work habits of some, I think, but for me the freedom to be comfortable after 40 years is business suits is just to liberating to ignore!
  • sorana Feb 23, 2011 @ 2:31 am | delete
Great lens and good suggestions. Thanks.
  • amandahobbs Feb 18, 2011 @ 2:57 am | delete
Cool designs. Gonna try some in coming months.
  • MamaBelle Feb 3, 2011 @ 11:34 am | delete
I loved this Lens! As a work from home pajama devotee, I can say that there is nothing more comfy than p.js to work in! And no, it doesn't make me want to crawl back into bed...there's too much work to do!
  • guardianstar77 Feb 11, 2011 @ 8:00 am | delete
Amen to that! I hop out of bed every morning excited to know that I am going to spend another day at work in my pajamas either writing here at Squidoo or working on graphic designs for my Zazzle gallery. Such fun--who wants to be in bed??
  • nyfamily5 Feb 2, 2011 @ 8:42 pm | delete
Awesome lens!!! I think we can all relate. I have the largest selection of pj's of anyone I know, or is that work clothes...
  • guardianstar77 Feb 11, 2011 @ 7:59 am | delete
Having a job where one can work in pajamas is awesome, isn't it? My selection of at-home-and-work wear is becoming smaller. I really HAVE to go shopping! :-)
  • wordstock Jan 31, 2011 @ 2:44 pm | delete
I absolutely love this and it is something I would have written if you had not beat me too it! I am even going to bless it for being entertaining and for reading my mind.
  • guardianstar77 Jan 31, 2011 @ 2:52 pm | delete
Thank you, wordstock. I am so glad you enjoyed it. This is one of my favorite lenses, and I do so appreciate the blessing!
  • Mujjen Jan 27, 2011 @ 4:43 am | delete
I have to go out to the school bus early morning, so I have to dress by force.
  • WordCustard Jan 18, 2011 @ 9:35 am | delete
Thanks for an entertaining read... I won't feel nearly as bad now when I find I forgot to get out of my pajamas! There's a great deal to be said for comfort.
  • guardianstar77 Jan 18, 2011 @ 10:34 pm | delete
I get so lost sometimes that, even if I DID intend to get out of my pajamas, it's one or two o'clock in the afternoon and I think "why bother now?" Makes sense to me!
  • LisaAuch Jan 17, 2011 @ 4:07 pm | delete
he-he this made me chuckle! i have the best PJs' on the market!
  • guardianstar77 Jan 18, 2011 @ 10:33 pm | delete
I think I'm going to have to buy some new ones soon. My washing machine is tired of looking at my two favorite pairs of pajamas!
  • KDimmick Jan 13, 2011 @ 1:07 pm | delete

I work at home and on occasion have clients come over. I'm always wearing something that I can run errands in, like tshirt and jeans, I don't wear suits. I like to have hair fixed and makeup on. At least I'm ready for whatever comes my way (I use to do flylady.) I appreciate this comfortable lens!
  • guardianstar77 Jan 18, 2011 @ 10:31 pm | delete
I made a New Year's Resolution to begin fixing my hair and dabbing on some make-up before sitting down at my computer. So far, I have broken it 18 times. :-)
  • jgelien Oct 2, 2010 @ 12:41 am | delete
I love this lens. I am a huge fan of comfortable and when I am able to work exclusively at home I will dress down accordingly. Conversely, it seems to be the thing, in my area at least, to go out shopping in pajama bottoms. I draw the line at that in public.
  • guardianstar77 Oct 15, 2010 @ 7:47 am | delete
Thank you for visiting and commenting, jgelien. I have seen the same thing here once or twice. Have to admit I considered this one day last week. I absolutely HAD to go out, and I was having a really "feeling physically bad" day. I found myself thinking: "No one will REALLY know these are pajama bottoms." Thankfully, I was able to listen to the little voice saying: "Dummy, they will, too!" LOL

I'm so glad I ran across you and this lens :-). So much of a fun read! I have a bit of hermit life, too. Hate having to go to town! Angel Blessed* and featured on Angelography.
  • guardianstar77 Oct 15, 2010 @ 7:29 am | delete
Oh, my. What a wonderful honor! Thank you for the blessing and for featuring my lens on Angelography. I so appreciate that. I tend to be more of a "professor" in most of my lenses, but some of them just cry out for humor, don't they?
  • Sep 12, 2010 @ 4:39 pm | delete
Had to laugh at "ultimate sacrifice" of putting on make-up! I so relate to that! I am casual and comfortable all the way. Really enjoyed this lens, too. :D

Thank you, Jacqueline. I am so glad you enjoyed the lens!

There are days when I wear my pjs, others when I wear jeans and a tshirt but there are a few when I will wear something more professional...it just depends on my mood. Love the lens and the cute little socks.

Thanks for dropping, elizajane. I appreciate your taking the time out of your busy schedule to visit me and leave a comment. You're the best!

Love comfortable clothing. I dressed in business suits for way too long. Right now, I have on a pair of light-blue pajama pants and a ribbed cotton T-shirt with a V-neck adorned with grommets. Both loose-fitting. My slip-on sandals are kicked under the desk. That's my style, and I'm sticking to it. :D
  • guardianstar77 Jul 10, 2010 @ 9:21 am | delete
Hey, Mimi! I think we must be very similar in our work-at-home dress code. I often start off with some kind comfortable shoes or socks on my feet. Within a short time, without even realizing I have pulled them off, I find they are up under my desk and my bare feet are happily exposed. :D
  • AngHoo Jul 1, 2010 @ 9:27 pm | delete
Hi Guardianstar77, I am pursuing my dream to own a home-based business. PJ is definitely my top choice then. :) You have a nice lens here that I have lensrolled on one of my lens. Glad that I come across your lens. Nice meeting you.

    Cheers,
    Ang
  • guardianstar77 Jul 10, 2010 @ 9:18 am | delete
Hi, AngHoo. Thanks for visiting my lens. I appreciate the nice words and the lensroll.
  • eclecticeducation Jun 18, 2010 @ 11:53 am | delete
lol!!! You have so described me! In the winter, my "uniform" is PJ bottoms and a tee shirt and summer my "uniform" is a tee shirt and comfortable bike shorts that I also wear to bed. We are also a homeschool family so my kids also wear PJs all day. I laugh because whenever I tell my kids to get dressed, they say "Where are we going?". My hubby (who is the only one in the family that gets dressed for the day) calls our pajamas our homeschool uniform. Even when I go out I wear either knit shorts or pants and a knit shirt or tee shirt. Great lens!

Thank you so much for visiting my lens and leaving your comment. Some of my friends thought I would never be able to make this adjustment and would grow tired of working in pajamas. They did not know me as well as they thought they did. LOL It's a year later now, and I am STILL sitting here answering this in (yep) a comfy pair of pants and a "nothing" shirt. I'm lovin' it!
  • Aika Apr 30, 2010 @ 12:35 pm | delete
Yes, I do now work at home and I'm very happy with it. Thanks for some tips from your lens!

  • kajohu Apr 25, 2010 @ 10:31 am | delete
I'm sitting here in my pajamas and a fleece vest, with bed-hair, browsing different sites on Squidoo. A fun lens to read :-) I like your tip to buy pj's and jeans a couple sizes too large because of the tendency to snack more.
  • guardianstar77 Jun 29, 2010 @ 3:38 pm | delete
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my lens, kajohu. And, yep, I am afraid that all too often I replace meals with junk food because I don't want to take time out to eat properly. I bet I'm not the only one working in my pajamas and eating too much junk food. :-)
  • GonnaFly Apr 13, 2010 @ 9:11 pm | delete
I came here to this lens in great trepidation. What should I be wearing to my "workplace". Ahhh! PJs are acceptable ... hang on ... Tap. Tap Tap. Is this computer screen two way? Can you see me?
  • guardianstar77 Apr 13, 2010 @ 10:22 pm | delete
I see you. You look really good in red!
  • susannaduffy Apr 10, 2010 @ 7:12 pm | delete
I get up at 6 am too but I always wash my face, add moisturiser, clean my teeth and brush my hair (while the kettle boils) before I sit down at my desk. That puts me in the mood for work. I have a timer that rings every hour to remind me to get up from my computer and stretch, run on the spot and do some eye exercises for 10 minutes. And yes, I don't change out of my PJs until lunchtime
  • guardianstar77 Apr 13, 2010 @ 10:22 pm | delete
Oh, you are very self-disciplined. I wish I could make myself get up and exercise every so often. I just get obsessed and sometimes don't move away from my computer for VERY long stretches of time. If the timer went off, I know I would just say "in a minute" and never actually do it. It is an excellent idea, however. Maybe I WILL give it a try. Thanks for taking the time to read my lens!
  • PositiveChristian Apr 6, 2010 @ 1:27 pm | delete
Another 5 star lens. I'm not taking much notice of your dress tips but I'm learning plenty from you about how to make great lenses. :)
  • guardianstar77 Apr 6, 2010 @ 1:34 pm | delete
Thank you, Vince. That is a really nice compliment, and I appreciate it so much. I am also really glad to know that you won't be wearing those awful high heels, either. :-)

Love it, just love it, this is so well written, humorous and so true! I think that if folks who had office jobs would be much happier if they went to work in their jammies too LOL - Kathy
  • grannysage Feb 17, 2010 @ 8:57 pm | delete
I am waiting for the day when I can work in my jammies. Actually, since I got my laptop, my new office is my bed! On Saturdays I get to my coffee and set up for the day with my quilt and my cats nearby. I could easily be a hermit crab, but I still have to go out into the world to pay for my Internet.

I am so happy you have found your passion.

I actually tend to mix and match pajama tops and bottoms, especially in the winter when sweats get into the mix. Currently I'm wearing flowered pajama bottoms, a striped top, and a red plaid (think lumberjack) flannel shirt. I seriously love it! Unfortunately, I have to leave the house later so I'll move up to something that matches, but I promise that it will be something comfortable! (Love the lens - love your style!)
  • guardianstar77 Feb 11, 2010 @ 8:15 am | delete
That's wonderful, Susan. I never really knew whether or not I should share the fact that my "ensembles" often have very random patterns, textures and colors! LOL
  • Carmel_Aaron Feb 11, 2010 @ 8:03 am | delete
    Hi Bonnie,

I appreciate your lens, as I work from home, and right now am wearing my most festive fleece PJ bottoms and a purple sweatshirt. Ahhhhhhh true comfort! I do love it. Lots of my neighbors are very jealous.

When I do have appointments, I dress accordingly. Yes, some do come here.

My G I classes are by Tele-Conference (which is helpful as those that attend are from across the U.S.) So, I still am allowed to dress casual and comfortable.

My present class is getting fabulous results, and I am getting additional results also.

Now, if I ever get a View/phone I might have to dress up.

It looks as if I live a little North of you. When I come into town we might both need to step out of
our PJ's, dress up and meet.

Thanks for your comments on my Glycemic Index Success Stories.

Great, fun lens. We agree that pj's are ok to wear when working at home alone. 5 stars*****

Thanks for your nice comments, Debora. I have only recently begun writing lenses. Although I truly love it, I haven't had much time to write in the last couple of weeks. My husband makes jewelry, and we are getting ready for a show coming up in a couple of weeks. After that, watch out world. :-)
  • DeboraR Oct 23, 2009 @ 2:50 am | delete
Love this lens! As I sit here in my Pj's, haha. I really like how you placed the 'money making' modules to match your subject sections. I look forward to seeing more of your lens. I'm surprised that you only have 2.

Thank you so much for blessing my second lens and for your valuable comments. I did think about adding a "vote" option, but I didn't know how to do it. I just read about the Duel Module concept this morning. As soon as I figure out exactly how to do it, I will certainly add it. I appreciate your time in reading my lenses.
  • spirituality Oct 11, 2009 @ 11:12 am | delete
while I choose to wear professional clothing even when working at home, I appreciate this lens. well done, though I'd add a duel module so people can sound off on both sides of the issue. Great lens - you've been blessed by a squidoo angel :)
  • KaylaB Oct 9, 2009 @ 2:35 pm | delete
Great lens Bonnie - you made me laugh as I read it - sitting in my pajamas at my computer! If I am going to work at home, I may as well be comfortable! Five stars.
