what are good meats to eat im only 30trs old and am having problems already
  • colbor Apr 13, 2012 @ 4:41 am | delete
    Hi David,

I usually go for the white meats (chicken and turkey). Turkey has more protein apparently. Then add in fish, fruit and veg plus plenty of exercise and you should be OK.

Before coming to your site concerning foods and their relationship to keeping a healthy prostate, I went to another that listed foods to avoid, and one item for example listed green tea. This is antithetical to your list. Whom is one to believe?
  • colbor Mar 2, 2012 @ 1:45 pm | delete
Well Stephen, you believe me, of course!! LOL . Seriously though, here is the link that reports that green tea can be very beneficial in preventing prostate cancer (probably!). If the other site has more convincing scientific and medical research, then you can believe them!

Very informative lens.. superlike. I was wondering if we can treat impotence too with food?
  • Deeringboy Feb 14, 2011 @ 9:59 pm | delete
thanks for the info. I will take some of these into consideration. An enlarged prostate can also be caused by dehydration. So guys get drinking lots of water and stay away from alcohol.

I've been learning about prostate health, and I found that you have some great information on your lens.

Nice read... not sure about soy though... i heard it's packed with female hormones, phytoestrogens... while it may help prevent cancer by reducing male hormones, I doubt anyone would risk his "virility" just to protect himself from possible cancer... I don't mind using soy sometimes.

Also, I would add BEE POLLEN AND HONEY to your list. Now that's miracle food for prostate!

I did not know about the three minutes boiling tip for broccoli. Sometimes I let them go a little bit longer but learnt something new. This is a great lens, appreciate the information.

Thanks Webcode for the vote ! I find that I am becoming vegetarian as a doc friend of mine told me that red meat was not only bad for my prostate but for my arthritis as well !

wow.. its something I got to think about as I get older. It's interesting that those people in Hong Kong got more cancer rates after western food. I guess I'll avoid a hamburguer for lunch today. 5* great job

The broccoli steam bags are the best...just pop them in for 4 1/2 minutes and they're done. I can't bring myself to eat soy though, I just can't! Great lens.
