Prostate Cancer Symptoms

One of the best ways to increase the chances that you will fully recover from prostate cancer is to catch the disease in its earlier stages. This makes it important for all men to know what the different symptoms of prostate cancer are. Waiting just a few weeks could be the difference between life and death, and thus, it is important that you see your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms.

Problems with Urination

Many men that have prostate cancer find that they have problems with urination. One of the most common symptoms of prostate cancer is the need to urinate frequently. This problem is often exacerbated at night. Some men find that they cannot get a full night's rest because of the need to go to the bathroom.

There are other prostate cancer symptoms that are linked to urination. While some men might find that they have to use the restroom frequently, other men might find that it is very difficult for them to urinate. It is also common for both of these conditions to exist at the same time. A man with prostate cancer might wake up in the middle night with the intense need to urinate. He will approach the toilet and find that he is unable to urinate at all. When the man is able to urinate, he might experience a weak flow or painful sensations.

Sexual Symptoms of Prostate Cancer

Many men also experience sexual problems when they have prostate cancer. They might find that it is difficult or impossible to get and maintain an erection. While many men experience this problem when they get older, it should not be ignored because it could indicate a serious medical problem.

Many men also experience other sexual symptoms. These include painful ejaculation and blood in semen. While these are not as commonly associated with age as erectile dysfunction, many men still ignore them as symptoms of getting older. While it might be possible that you do not have prostate cancer even if you experience these symptoms, it is important that you have doctor test you for it.

Muscle Stiffness and Pain

Another symptom that many men write off as "just getting older" is stiffness and pain in the lower back, upper legs, and hips. Again, these symptoms might not be caused by a serious medical problem, but it requires the knowledge of a doctor to tell the difference between an annoyance that can be treated with pain relievers and a disease that needs surgery and other treatments.

Preventing Prostate Cancer

Depending on your genetic makeup, it might not be possible to completely prevent prostate cancer. It is, however, possible to help prevent it by living a healthy lifestyle. Some of the suggestions that doctors commonly make to men that have a risk of developing prostate cancer is to avoid tobacco products, get plenty of exercise, and eat a well balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and grains. However, not all of the preventative techniques are boring or troublesome. Some studies have shown that a healthy sex life can help keep your prostate in good condition.
Prostate cancer is a serious disease that can cause death, and it is important that you see your doctor immediately if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. Many of these symptoms can also be caused by other ailments, and your doctor will probably give you a variety of tests to help determine what disease, if any, you are experiencing. Getting an early diagnosis greatly increases the chances of recovering from prostate cancer. Therefore, you should also see your doctor regularly since many men do not experience these symptoms in the initial stages of the disease.

Although I do recommend that you seek professional medical attention, I also know that doctor's visit and prescription medications can get very expensive very fast. Treating Prostate Cancer Naturally is a great way to get more information about alternative, natural treatments for prostate cancer, and it won't even cost you as much as a single doctor's visit.

Having just lost my father to prostate cancer- I think that the point that men need to get check ups to detect signs of prostate cancer early cannot be stressed too much.

Nice lens. I would mention here though that by the time you get symptoms it may be too late. the best way to avoid metastatic PC is to begin PSA (prostate specific antigen) screening at age 55 and at age 45 if you're African American.
