Identity theft is a growing problem that we all need to understand and learn more about. Have you watched shows on TV where the people describe their emotional abuse thorough this difficult time? Nothing can prepare a person for the emotional and financial pains of identity theft. Its a very serious subject that effects many Americans.
Protecting driver's licenses, checking accounts, credit cards, and our socal security numbers from fraud is highly important. Personal information throw into a trashcan is a no, no, just don't do it. Keeping ones personal information safe from identity theft can be difficult, but here are some tips you may incorporate.

Keeping Safe From Identity Theft

To keep the following personal items: medical bills, bank statements, and all mall safe from landing into the wrong hands. Remember that anyone that see's a personal item maybe tempted to steal information. Taking the appropriate actions will help insure and keep one safe from computer fraud.


  1. Shredding all personal and private mail.

  2. Shredded paper can be used for bedding of small pets like hamsters.

  3. Burning mail and shredded papers will insure extra security for your personal information.

  4. Don't carry personal items in your wallet or purse like birth certificate, social security card, or checkbook. Especially not together. Losing all these items together would could be disastrous.



There are a few alternatives to using personal checks. Personal information is just that personal keep it that way. Protecting yourself from fraud is a must, so don't hand out your social security number to just anyone like placing it on checks or other unsecured documents. Of course this is common sense, but sometimes we become lax in our common sense. Common sense can be what protects us from identity theft.
