Artists Need to be Pro-Active!

The government is trying to pass legislation that requires all artists to register their creations for a fee. If they are not registered, they would become "Orphaned Works" meaning that they have NO copyright and become public domain - so potentially anyone can sell or distribute the images without the creating artist receiving any monetary remuneration. This effects all of us.

What's Being Done

Illustrators, Photographers, and Designers . . .

. . .have opposed specific aspects of the proposed "Orphaned Works" recommendations, siting that ANY attempt to permit use without consent defeats the protection granted under copy-wright law.
