Diets That Actually Work As Advertised

As a certified personal trainer, I am always on the lookout for diets that actually work. The truth of the matter is that most diets actually "work", if a person is willing to "work" at the diet.

Early in January, 2009, at the request of many clients who had made new years resolutions, I began comprehensive research to uncover diets that actually work for a majority of dieters. The following is what I discovered about diets that work

Diets That Actually Work Are NOT Starvation Diets

Diets that drastically reduce calories are potentially dangerous, and the chances of gaining the weight back are great.

In the good old days, we simply called this process, "starvation."

When the body is in "starvation" mode, the body protects itself by slowing caloric expenditure and reducing metabolism.

Consequently, even on diets of less than 1000 calories, dieters eventually find it difficult to lose weight.

When a dieter goes off one of these severely restrictive diets, the body eagerly tries to repair itself by storing more calories as fat.

VOILA! The weight comes back faster than than the time it took to lose it.

On the other hand, diets that actually work, REQUIRE people to eat adequate amounts of nutritious foods.

Diets That Actually Work Encourage You To Exercise

Increasing Activity Is Part Of Diets That Work

Gone are the days when creators of diet plans boasted that "no exercise is required."Individuals that create diet programs realize that mild exercise, at the least, makes losing weight easier.

The weight loss is more consistent when combined with exercise, too. Ideally, your exercise plan should consist of exercise to improve the function of your heart and lungs, and muscle firming exercises. Walking and mild weight training make a good combination.

So does water exercise and Yoga.

Diets that actually work always suggest speaking with your doctor before engaging in a diet/exercise program.

Diets That Actually Work Feature A Maintenance Plan

Diets That Work Help Dieters Keep Weight Off

While performing my research, I came across many diets that reported very impressive results. Those results, however, were for the weight lost by the dieters.

Only a small number of the diets reported impressive results in helping dieters keep off the pounds they had lost.

Within the program structure of diets that actually work, was a solid plan to help dieters maintain their weight loss.

First and foremost, these maintenance plans work with the dieter to permanently change their eating behavior, or habits.

Diets that actually work help dieters understand how their moods and emotions influence their eating.

In conclusion, the key to a successful weight loss plan is to help dieters remove the symptom- fat, and help them find a solution to why they gained too much fat to begin with.

I was very excited when I finally discovered diets that actually work, and if you are unhappy with your weight, I encourage you to take action NOW!

You DESERVE to be happy with yourself and your weight.
