Facebook proxies explained

You may be wondering what exactly proxies are. Proxy servers act as an intermediary between the "client" - you and the Internet - the website you are trying to view. You will send a request to a proxy, then the proxy submits a query to the Internet, and then a proxy server sends the request back to you. So you are able to view the website under the "guide" of a proxy server. This process has many different advantages and uses.

Main types of web proxies

These are the main types of proxies and their functions:

Web-proxy - these proxy server types are websites just like any other and can be found via search engines and accessed via your web browser. Many times these proxies used in schools, countries, corporations or block offensive Web content, or simply to control their customers access to the Internet. These proxies come in various forms such as phproxy and cgi proxy but its not necessary for users to worry about these kinds of details since each type's usage works in much the same fashion. The most common reason for using a proxy is to gain access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc or also video sharing sites like Youtube.

The problem is that proxies are often blocked as soon as the network administrator at a school or workplace becomes aware of the fact that one is being used to gain unauthorised access to prohibited websites. Because of this there is always a need for new proxy websites. Also, because proxy servers deliver the websites to you rather than you visiting the website directly, their compatibility with each website varies from proxy to proxy. What this means is you may find things don't work in quite the same way with your favorite website through a proxy server compared with accessing the site directly from home.

you should also consider this fact, your login info has to pass throught the proxy. most people are dumb people. to login to facebook or myspace, you have to enter a full email address then a password. if you make your facebook password the same as that email acount password, you are really comprimising you good name. if you have bank info, or credit card purchases, cell phone bills, insurance informations you are in deep doo doo now.... sneaky proxy admin can steal your whole life!!!! sell you on the interwebs!! ZOMG!!! how do you know that the proxy is secure? how do you know that the person running the proxy isnt going to harvest you informations and clog up your personal thing?
