For the modern bookworms, Sony manufactured a series of e-book readers. Sony E-Reader prs 950 uses electronic paper display on a handheld device. The electronic paper is developed by E Ink Corporation. This reader does not require power since the electronic copy of the book is viewable and readable in a well-lighted environment. The electronic image of the book pages can be switched between portrait or landscape orientation depending on the user's preference.

In the United States and Canada, e-Books are available in different online e-bookstores such as Sony eBook Library. Sony's prs950 e-Reader can display different file formats like PDF, ePub, RSS, JPEG, BBeB or Sony's Broadband eBook. It can also play audio formats like MP3 or AAC.

The Reader Daily Edition can also be used for newspapers and other periodicals. Just like a normal newspaper distribution, you can subscribe to any newspaper publication and your daily newspaper will be delivered to your eReader wirelessly. And since it uses E Ink Pearl technology, you can view the newspaper amazingly clear.

Multiple file formats are supported by the Reader Daily edition. It is compatible with PDF, Word, BBeB, other text formats, ePub and ACS. It is also compatible with Microsoft and Mac operating systems. The Reader Daily is open format, which allows you to access eBooks not only from Sony, but also from other online bookstores.

In addition to reading capability, now you can highlight the sections you'd want to revisit some other time. It's as if you have an electronic bookmark. A virtual keyboard is also available in case you want to put some notes. And since it is compatible to Microsoft and Mac Operating systems, you can export your notes to your computer using the Reader Library software.

prs900bckit still comes with great features and quality..but at a little less money.
