PS3 Jailbreak 4.11 released for Download

Please make sure you format the USB memory stick to FAT32
Open your USB stick and create on there a folder called "PS3" (no quotes)
In that folder create another called "UPDATE"
Download the Custom Firmware (CFW) files from any of the links given
During busy times you may be asked to enter at least a working email to start the download. You can either try again at a less
busy time or use a working email to activate.
Double click the downloaded .RAR to open and extract PS3UPDAT.PUP to the folder you just created on the USB above

You can now install the Custom Firmware. Please only do this through the recovery menu as shown below

Power off PS3
Hold on/off button on the front of the PS3 and Power on the PS3 at the back or wall socket.
Keep on/off pressed while PS3 boots up and then turns off again
Release on/off and press again and hold until you hear two quick beeps then release
You will now have the option to install the firmware via the Recovery Menu
Make sure your controller is connected via USB and you have inserted your USB memory stick.
PS3 will now reboot on completion
You can now install PKG files from a USB Memory Stick via the new "Install Packages" menu item under Games in the XMB

Regarding the imminent release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) there has
been some speculation that it will coincide with a new update for the PS3 effectively
blocking the CFW. Heres a quote from the forum post

Lots of rumors lately about the fw version required for MW3 well as the
game as now leaked to the wz scene we can test the theory and it looks like
at least from launch anyway the game will be 3.72 so its fine. Of course this
means unless we do get an update the cheaters wll be trying to get the aimbot
out there again :( But for now at least ps3 jailbreak is still working.

Sony rolled out an optional update. 3.73 is not needed to connect to PSN at this time. Of course come the next update you will get that update anyway, so what exactly is an optional update then?

A new hardware jailbreak device is now on the market. Originating from Indonesia this is a paid for dongle that also allows the playing of recent higher firmware games. The draw backs to this method is as stated by the manufacturers you need to purchase special bluray disks to play backups. This goes against the mantra of backing up your own games. Buying copies in this manner is so much worse than backing up your own disc or even downloading a ps3 game from some dodgy torrent site. This put money directly into the hands of pirates that may have gone to the developers. As such we would hope this method is closed as soon as possible. But really with the keys now being public its a moot point anyway.

Sony have rolled out another update this time taking up to 4.00. While the change from 3 to 4 may seem a big step made by Sony, in reality its a few minor changes to ready the console for pairing with their new Vita. That aside this is a compulsory update if you with to remain using PSN. So the need now for new PS3 Custom Firmware or so called PS3 Jailbreak 4.00

New compulsory update from Sony brings ps3 to 4.1 firmware. Big news with this update is the much improved PS3 browser compatibility which includes some limited DropBox functionality. Other differences relate to the PSN name change to SEN. Other than another new TOS to agree too this is invisible to the end user. No new security updates to deal with or bypass here so PS3 Jailbreak 4.10 should only be a matter of days away.
