'The book of Psalms' is a part of Old Testament (Holy Bible) contains a collection of prayers, hymns and poems which express the feelings and thoughts of a worshiper. It helps us to sing praises and worship the God. This book contains 150 psalms written by different people in period of 1000 years. The most of the instances in Psalms were written by David but not the entire book.

The entire book of Psalms is not written by a single author. Its a collection of 150 lyric poems written by many people in a time period of 1000 years.
The name of the authors and their books are given below,
* Psalm (90) - Moses
* Psalm (72 & 127) - Solomon
* Psalm (50 & 73 - 83) - Asaph
* Psalm (42, 44-49, 84-85,87-88) - Sons of Korah
* Psalm (88) - Heman
* Psalm (89) - Ethan
Remaining 73 psalms were written by David.
