Predictions for 2009 through 2012, and Beyond

Money the world over will be worthless without the gold standard behind it. We are headed for a cashless society. He has been predicting a depression worse than the 30s for the last forty years. The next currency will be something the average citizen needs.

A sin tax will arise during 2009, to tax entertainment, booze, broads, etc.

Nothing will happen in 2012 but 2013 will bring the end of the old world order and return of the star gods.

We will see more kidnappings in this country, especially border states. Wealthy Americans will be taken over the border and held for ransom. Also wealthy Latin Americans. Women will be kidnapped, not just men.

Gas prices will stay steady until February, and then may go down in some states, toward $1.00/gal. In some places.

Real estate - prices will slowly increase, especially in CA, OH. FL will be slower.

Economy - we will weather it well and it won't be a major crisis.

Re: The Russian prediction about a US Civil War and American being split - he doesn't believe that will happen.

There will be major weather pattern changes, esp. in Hawaii, Florida, Thailand, Indonesia, Antartica. He expects a major hurricane in 2009 for Florida. Hawaii will have heavier tropical winds and a few small hurricanes. Thailand will have strong tropical winds. Indonesia will experience major weather conditions, but not a tsunami. Antartica will have warmer temperatures in 2009 and that will affect climate in other parts of the world.

There will be major advances in HIV research and there will be a vaccine to help people not become infected.

There will be a cure found for a cancer that affects the throat/mouth region.

China will become offended by comments made about China by the Mexican government, so China will try to encourage the US to block Mexican imports, but this will quickly pass when the Mexican government apologizes.

Two show business legends will pass in 2009, plus one younger performer will die, and the story will have some kind of bizarre twist to it. Something strange will be discovered about this person.

The recession will continue from January 2009 through March or April, but there will be steady economic improvement after that and recovery by 2011.

There will be horrific weather during 2009, especially toward the end of January. Also the hurricane season will be bad, even catastrophic. There will be two major storms resulting in a need to rebuild. He also sees something happening in the Los Angeles area - perhaps even a hurricane, which would be highly unusual for that location.

He had a recent dream about a fire, possibly in the Sears Tower in Chicago, so he expects people will lose their lives in a high-rise fire and that it will cause people to re-evaluate the way tall buildings are constructed.

The Middle East will heat up with Israel and Iran being in conflict at the beginning of February. The USA could get pulled into it, so this will be a test for Obama at the beginning of his presidency.

Afghanistan will be a hot spot and before August the USA will send a lot more troops there.

Regarding entertainers, he sees big changes in store for Brad Pitt and his wife in reference to their marriage. He also expects Jennifer Lopez to break up with Mark Anthony. He also expects several former music stars and several present music stars to pass on. Worse yet, he expects a group of entertainers to go down in a plane crash.

A food enzyme will be discovered to be a cure for colon and blood cancers. There will also be advances in AIDS research - he expects a vaccine in October 2009.

There will be a woman president within the next ten years.

Because of overuse of antibiotics people will become more resistant to them.

Rising food prices will cause starvation.

HIV infection will continue to rise but the quality of AIDS health care will improve.

In 2009 contaminated pharmaceutical drugs will become an issue, possibly originating in China or India.

The incidence of tropical diseases will rise with an outbreak in an unexpected location.

Recent retail sales were down during Christmas season. A 35% drop in luxury items shows that the collapse is coming from the top, down.

Who will rent stores and office space vacated by closing businesses: Nobody. In 2009 there will be a collapse of the commercial real estate market.

Just as last year he predicted the panic of '08 and an economic 911, he now predicts the "Collapse of '09" followed by "The Greatest Depression".

When we got out of the 1930's Great Depression the USA had a manufacturing base, but we don't have that anymore. Now the only thing the government could come up with to solve the problem is what he calls the Bernanke Two-Step (named for the Federal Reserve chairman) ... to adjust interest rates (which are now adjusted to almost zero) or print more money. But that won't solve the problem, to print money based on nothing. Celente says the way to correct it can be found by looking at a severe recession we went through in the 1990s. We came out of it because of the Internet revolution, which gave us a productive capacity. Now we need another productive capacity.

Only two stocks went up last year: McDonalds and Walmart - that's where the country is going.

Good news: Windows of opportunity... when you see big chains failing, there are gaps that quick moving entrepreneurs can fill. For example, replacing Starbucks coffee houses that close. Anything high quality and low price. Also whole-health healing is a good field to get into because the survivors will be the healthiest in all ways including physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There will be a nation-wide economic slimming down, and frugality will become popular. People will learn to do without. Remember, "What's bad for Wall Street is good for Main Street."

Obama's national health care system will go through but there will be a socialized employment program that will devolve into a socialist police state a few years later - by 2015. This will include socialist housing.

There will be discoveries about junk DNA, and it won't be junk - part will be for intelligence.

This will be the year for using alcohol as a fuel; we can cook our way out of dependence on foreign fuel. And in a couple months the price of fuel will go back up.

People will get together to create self sustaining societies.

There will be a new energy source in the coming year with high energy and static electricity.

There will be conclusive evidence that microbial life exists on Mars.

Seeds and garden product sales will skyrocket.

Some disaster will bring us to fascism in the USA and that the end of the Mayan calendar will lift the yoke of oppression from South America.
