Personal Support Workers in Canada
One of the fastest growing employment opportunities in Ontario Canada.
What's the big deal?
Personal support workers in Ontario are growing by leaps and bounds year by year. PSW's take care of individuals of all types, including but not exclusive to the elderly, physically disabled, mental disabled, those with physical injuries, individuals in hospitals, etc.
The government of Ontario has pledged an additional $107 million to the PSW industry for use over the next two years.
PSW's are like the cousins of Nurses in Ontario. Both learn from the same textbooks (a psw textbook is a derivative of a nurses text). The differences are the length of a course and variations in work. A PSW is somewhat like a diet nurse. They don't have as much training or as many medical skills but they still know enough to administer a number of health care services.
