THE GOAL OF THIS LENS - CLICKERS BEWARE

As most of you know, I spend a great deal of time on Mylot chatting with my friends about the Paid to Click (PTC) world. Don't know anything about the PTC world? Just click on the green banner below for more details. Anyway, lately the topic of discussion on Mylot has been all the sites that are shutting down, sites getting hacked or just plain scamming their members. No matter what methods the sites are using, members are losing their valuable time and most important - their hard earned money for clicking! We are all trying to earn on the internet and these scammers are making it impossible to make any money. With this lens, I am going to start tracking all the closed sites. Why do this you are probably thinking? The owners of those sites shutting down are possibly the same owners of the new sites opening. They take members money and just start a new site. Yes it's true and there is nothing anyone can do about it, until now. The best way to stop a scammer is through KNOWLEDGE. The more informed you are, the better your chances for not getting scammed. That is the main purpose of this lens - to arm members with information. I hope you find this lens very useful and please feel free to leave any comments.

BEENPAID.COM - GEM OF A WEBSITE

BeenPaid.com is the only comprehensive directory of free to join "get paid to" programs that are verified as having paid their members. One of their biggest missions right now is to STOP SCAMS. So why should you know about BeenPaid? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but when doing business on the internet, there are all kinds of scam companies that will do anything to take your money. Their websites look legitimate and some will even pay their members, in the beginning, to gain their trust. There is nothing more discouraging than clicking away for days, only to find out you will not be paid for your hours of hard work.

GREAT SITE FOR LEARNING

PTC Talk is the premier site when it comes to paid to click. They have a crash course on ptc called the earning guide, a top 10 list of paying sites based on member polls and not outside parties, a list of paying and scam sites, watchlist of possible scam sites, reviews of ptc sites and a very live forum of actual ptc members. Their motto is "learn before you earn". Click on the banner below to learn more.

WARNING SIGNS TO WATCH FOR

Don't know how to spot a scam ptc site? These are good tips to use. If a site has maybe one or two of these signs, that's ok especially if the site is new. However, if the site has all of these signs, stop clicking now and cash out while you can still get your money.

HOW MANY ADS
This is the most obvious clue. First how many ads are you getting per day? Less than five? Stop clicking now because you will never make payout with this many ads. A good ptc site should have at least ten to fifteen ads per day, and this is without premium membership. This is the average so you may get more or less ads. Think about it - the site makes money by advertising. If they have no ads, they don't get paid AND neither do you.

WHAT KIND OF ADS
Once again, pay attention to the ads. Have you seen these types of ads before? Buy referrals here, sign up for our forum, get paid fast with premium membership, vote for us at ptctalk, referral contest, etc. Well these ads are to increase membership - they do not earn any money for the ptc site. This is normal for a new site to show these ads but watch out if these are the only ads still showing after the site has been open for several months. What good are members who are not getting paid?

MISSING ADMIN
This is a very important clue to spot a scam ptc site. How do you know when the admin is missing? Check the site's forum, starting with news and announcements. This part of the forum is where the admins communicate with members about what's going on with the site. Is your admin checking in on a daily basis? What about weekly? These are good signs that the admin cares about the site and its members. Believe me, when the admin goes missing, you will know immediately. How? By all the tons of screaming members posting their complaints in the forum. Chances are, the admin took the money and ran.

CONFUSING TERMS OF SERVICE
Before you join a ptc site, check the terms of service (TOS). The fun facts listed on the banner seem to always change based on what's happening in the ptc world but the TOS remain the same. It should be clear and state simple facts, no vague language. Terms like "normal business day, admin deems appropriate" don't make any sense. What is a normal business day? Use common sense when reading TOS. If something sounds too good to be true, then please use caution.

"Do you know the owner of your ptr site? Good news if your ptr website owner is not listed here!"

FOLLOW THE OWNER

Why check the owners you ask? For every PTR site that shuts down, one replaces it, and it might very well be the same owner of the closed site. For those sites using private registration via a proxy, there is no information available for the owner, who wishes to remain anonymous. Does that sound like an honest person?

So how does knowing the site owner stop scams? If you notice the owner of a new ptr website is listed here, do not join that site. Don't just stop there. Tell all your friends. Remember, you are helping them in the long run too. If the site does not get any members, they won't get any advertisers or any money. Without enough members, eventually the site will shut down. The list is growing, so check back on a regular basis. Don't waste your valuable time. Get to know the owners!
