PTSD Symptoms: Typical Examples

Just a little about me first and my own PTSD symptoms. I was pretty lucky, I only had to go on one tour of Iraq Even so, a few of my friends didn't make it back home. When I did get home, I quickly began to alienate those close to me because of my crazy mood swings and incredibly short temper. I didn't suffer from flashbacks and thankfully I wasn't suffering from depression, but I was just generally unpleasant to be around. I also tried going back to school, but I found it difficult to concentrate in class and forget about trying to read the text books. I thought my PTSD symptoms would go away eventually, that I just needed some time to unwind.

PTSD Symptoms

Loneliness, feelings of guilt, depression, flashbacks, moodiness, anger problems, inability to concentrate. These are just some of the typical PTSD symptoms. The first thing you must know is that this is normal and there is nothing wrong or weird. Intensely traumatic events will cause these symptoms; they're just the brain's response to dealing with trauma.

Second, while it's possible to cure yourself of your PTSD, it's much much easier if you seek help. Just by talking to someone, you will begin to feel much better. Truly, the hardest part of seeking help is to ask for it.

I Finally Turned To The Vet Center To Help With My PTSD Symptoms

To be fair, the Vet Center actually reached out to me first. Now while the Vet Center is connected to the VA, they are more specifically focused on dealing with the mental health of veterans. You can find the closest one to you here. Just by meeting with the counselor once a week and going to a few group sessions, I started to feel much better and my PTSD symptoms began to subside. If you don't do anything, at least try your local Vet Center.

And not only should you try them for your own sake, but you should also do it for those around you. When I got home, I was nearly impossible to be around. Everyone had to walk on eggshells around me. I was tired of blaming my PTSD symptoms as the reason why I would lash out at those around me.

I Still Needed Something Else To Totally Get Rid Of My PTSD Symptoms

The Vet Center was great, I can't stress that enough. Go there if you don't do anything else. I was finally able to function like a normal person in just a short time spent with them. The only problem was, I wasn't back to my normal self. Like I said, I was functional, but I was still prone to moodiness and anger. The VA and the Vet Center could only help me if I was a threat to myself or anyone around me, and even then they mostly prescribed medicine. The only silver lining there was that my PTSD symptoms weren't bad enough to be classified as a threat.

I wanted to be rid of all my PTSD symptoms instead of just being rid of some of them. I couldn't afford a psychiatrist and I really didn't want to turn to any medication. Instead, I began to do a lot of searching online. I eventually came across the program at Bright Life. They make some pretty amazing claims which put me off at first.

But it works. I wasn't cured in 20 minutes like they said one of their patients was, but after going through the system, I had finally gotten rid of all my PTSD symptoms and was back to my normal self again. I encourage you to give their program a try. They have an amazing resource at Bright Life and they guarantee their results.
