Public Speaking, Panic Attacks - Simple Secrets That Halt Your Anxiety In It's Tracks

Public speaking doesn't have to be a panic attack nightmare, there are plenty of things you can do to eliminate all your fears.

I Used To Fear Speaking Until I Learned The Error Of My Ways

I remember a school year long since past, I was graduating that semester so I could not drop any of my classes or... no graduation for me.

I had been afraid of public speaking and panic attacks for as long as I could remember but I HAD to get up and teach a portion of one of our classes as part of my grade for one of my classes.

Needless to say I was terrified, it was the longest ten mins of my life. My voice was cracking the whole time, I felt like I was going to pass out, but I made it through because I was determined to graduate.

What I didn't know back then was I didn't need to go through all that pain and suffering. There are many ways to stop panic attacks dead in their tracks, no matter what is causing them.

Panic attacks can be controlled through cognitive brain training methods, several which I have learned over the past few years. And I have to tell you, I never get panic attacks anymore, no matter how large the audience or how important the speech or presentation.

There are several brain training methods out there, among them are the Linden Method and Panic Away by Joe Barry. I recommend the latter (Panic Away) because it's easy to learn and extremely effective.

Feel No Fear On Speech Day

What I've done is I've learned, step by step, to train my brain. At the first tinge of and panic I simply move through the panic my moving brain activity from one part of my brain to another. Sound complicated? It really isn't.

Once you learn this technique it's yours for life and you can use it in any situation where you're feeling out of sorts for any reason.

There are a few other things that I do to halt panic in it's tracks. The day of the speech or presentation I workout like a mad man. What this does is it forces all the nervous energy out of your body. This a wonderful trick, works every time.

Also, don't drink any caffiene the day of and no alcohol the night before. These substances can cause heightened sense of panic in just about everyone.

Lastly, eat a ton of protein and a lot of fruits and vegetables, this will cause your brain to produce serotonin which will keep you in a calm state.

Eating a potato or some peas will also boost serotonin, and if you need an extra boost, there's always a supplement called 5 htp which is guaranteed to convert to serotonin in you brain.

Public speaking, panic attacks don't have to be the result of a public speaking engagement if you follow the rules I've outlined above.

Don't forget to learn the cognitive method or One Move Technique, as it is like your safety net in case you brain starts to desert you. It is the best method for controlling panic during a speech that I've come across. Five gold stars.
