Publishing on Google Books

If you publish on Kindle, you should also consider publishing on Google Books. Neither requires an exclusive contract, so why not. In fact, when Kindle does not work, Google Books may.

I realize most people publish novels, but I, as a scientist and mathematician, find publishing in other genres fit my needs better. Kindle does not handle images well. With Kindle, images may end up in the wrong place, since the reader can control the print size. As a result, Kindle does not accept the images I need to include. And equations made using an equation editor can save as images. Google Books accepts a pdf file, which allows all the images you may need.

My First Google Book

I also have this one available in print on Amazon's Create Space. In fact, this is the Create Space version. But, except for the ISBN number that Create Space has applied to my book, the ebook on Google Books is the same.

Of course, the price may differ.

Google Books is free!

Google Books, like Kindle, is free. Once you submit the file, and get it in an acceptable form, you are in business. So, after you save your file, save it again in pdf format.

The review process is brief, but does exist. Submit quality only if you do not wish rejection. Kindle also has a review process.

Sales

Google Books has three different situations whereby you get royalties. Review the amount you will get under all three. Then submit your book with the desired sales price.

As for royalties, Google Books has a nice return. Compare their royalties with Kindle.

Ad Revenue

Google Books allows you to earn from Adsense, if you have an account. When people visit your books, ads appear. If they click on the ads, you earn income. And your current Adsense account can be used.

Sample Pages

Google allows perspective buyers to preview a rather large part of your book. Then, to get the rest, they must pay. If you do not wish browsing, perhaps another service would be better for you.
