Interested in Publishing Your Own Book?

If you are interested in publishing your own book then you have come to the right place. this lens will give you the information that you need to know. Getting a book published is not easy but when you are armed with the right information it is a lot easier. Do not let anything stand in your way, but stay informed. Oh yeah, and read this lens!

Review of the Secret Rules of Publishing

If you're serious, and I do mean SERIOUS about wanting to get your book published, then this book is a MUST READ. I don't say that about very many things online, but this is one of them. I would venture to say that this will someday be looked at as the book publishing bible. It is THAT good.

Okay, let's get right down to the meat. What's in it?

First of all, the author, Donnie Sozie, struggled for 7 horrible years before she finally figured this nightmare of a business out. So she is speaking from experience. As she simply puts it, there are only 3 things needed to get your book published%u2026a great manuscript, the guts to make it happen, and inside information. Okay, she can't give you 1 and 2. If you can't write and don't have any guts, this book is probably a waste of your time. You need to have a solid product to sell and the guts to do what's needed.

Having said that, the book, as far as the info you need, reveals a killer presentation letter that will make the publisher completely forget that you're a first time author. You MUST see this to believe it. That's what I call guts.

Donna also goes over the 11 most common mistakes that authors make when trying to get a book published. If you've tried in the past, I'm sure you'll find about 5 or 6 of these on your own personal list%u2026if not more.

Donna also shows you how to tap into the commercial aspects of your book in order to get publishers to grab it before anybody else does. If you read any of my articles, you know that you have to convince the publisher that there is money in it for him. Donna shows you how.

Think a non fiction book won't interest anybody? Think again. Donna shows you how to put together a proposal for a non fiction title that is almost fool proof.

Look, I could keep going all day long. Why don't you just visit Donna's site and see what she has to offer. I promise you, you won't be sorry.

Secrets Rules of Publishing

Publishing Your Book

Everyone wants to be a writer. The amount of people who consider writing for a living is enormous. Ironically many people fail not because they are not talented writers, but because they do not understand how to get their book published. There is a procedure that must be followed if you want to really have any chance at all. Book publishing is extremely competitive. The publishers out there get hundreds of manuscripts every week. In order to get your manuscript seen requires some knowledge and skill.

Right off the bat you need to no that no one, and I really mean no one, accepts unsolicited material. The reasons for this vary. One main reason is the litigious state of our society. Many writers will sue publishers claiming that the publisher has stolen their work. The hassle is not worth it. Any reputable publisher will have a requirement that the writer receive permission before submitting material. When this is done the permission is a matter of record and will protect against any claims of theft.

Another reason that publishers will not accept unsolicited material is because they receive so much material all of the time. They do not have the time to go through everything. Due to this unsolicited materials will not get looked at. If you are ready to send in a submission make sure that you receive permission FIRST. If you do not do not expect for your material to get reviewed and kiss the money that you spent for postage and materials good bye.

You also need to know that submission must be presented meeting professional standards. The length of this article will not allow me to go into detail about what the exact professional standards are. It is a fairly complicated process. You can not expect to just print something out, throw it in an envelope, and send it on its' way. A professional presentation will increase your odds of having your submission reviewed and accepted.

Below is a review of a great resource that will go over all of this in great detail. Most people do not understand that submitting a book with the intention of getting published requires knowledge because of the intense competition. Please do not start until you know exactly what you need to do and how. This could be the difference between having your work published or not.
