Are your pugs tired of wearing the same old party-hats?

If you're having a party for Halloween, Christmas, Mardi Gras, or just a regular costume party, why not dress up your pug too?
Pugs are natural hams. They love being the center of attention and a fun costume can often help them do that.

Pug Sizes Are a Little Bit Different

♥ Always check the size charts before buying a costume for your pug. While the breed sizing recommendations may work for other breeds, (whippets, maybe?) It's not accurate at all for pugs! Measure your pug around his chest at his thickest point: right behind the front legs. Compare this measurement to the costume's sizing chart. If it's close, then go a size up!

♥ Be careful of costumes with long sleeves. Usually if a costume fits a pug around the middle, long sleeves will be way too long! If you are handy with a sewing machine, then it won't be that big a deal, but if that's too much of a hassle, stay away from the long sleeves.

♥ Know your Pug! My pugs won't even keep hats on long enough for me to snap a picture. If your pug goes into a full on butt-tuck (you know what I'm talking about) when he gets a new costume on, go for something secure!

Christmas Collars

The easiest way to add a little "HoHoHo" to your pet's holiday!

You can also just go with a festive dog collar, so you won't have to worry about keeping it on, sizing, or anything. Your pug can be just as comfortable as always for a long time, and still have holiday fun with you.

Jester Style Collars

Inexpensive and Easy

Jester collars are an excellent costume for a pug. They will look super cute and impress your friends. It's also not very much of a nuisance for pugs who like to shake-off their costumes. Sometimes to get my dog into elaborate costumes, It's a hassle to do all the velcro. These have elastic and it's easy to just slip it over her head. Presto! Instant costume. It's important to get the right size, but you don't really need to worry about choking her. After all, pugs have all kinds of fur and neck rolls, so you should be able to find a size that fits her comfortably but won't slip off.

Seriously, pug faces already look like yoda. Your dog will be the life of the party with this costume. Just through sheer looks, you can't go wrong. It is physically impossible to frown while looking at a pug in a yoda costume.

Cowboy Style Costumes

What's great about these costumes is you don't have to worry too much about sizing. You should still check the sizing charts, but the chest straps are usually very adjustable. You might be able to put this on Puppy Pugsley, and then two years later put it on Pudgy Pugsley! My boy would put up with these kinds of costumes, but my girl would viciously attack her rider until he had been de-horse'd and thoroughly de-stuffing'd. So if your pug is ornery, you might want to avoid these.
