The Art of Pulling an All-Nighter
Ranked #11,983 in Education, #267,524 overall
For whatever reason, you're going to end up pulling an all-nighter at least once in your life.
A lot of people cannot function past midnight, and the very thought of staying up all night makes them yawn. I'm here to help! If staying up all night and being able to function the next day was an Olympic sport, I would have more gold medals than Michael Phelps!

What you'll need
Crucial items in your quest to stay up all night
- Fast music - anything that usually makes you hyper or happy.- A light - a big, bright one that you CANNOT TURN OFF all night!
- Jeans - really tight, uncomfortable ones.
- The Internet.
- A friend! (If you're not lucky enough to have a friend with you in person, try to find someone who will be able to talk on the phone with you.
Early in the night
If you're anticipating a long night ahead of you for whatever reason, you're going to want to be somewhat well-rested. Do not consume any kind of energy drinks of caffeine because those will make you "crash" later!
It is okay to recline and watch television - UNTIL you begin to feel tired. Once you feel drowsy, turn the television off! Don't get sucked into watching more, because you will just end up falling asleep. Really!
If you are lucky enough to have a companion by your side for this adventure, talk! Sit in a brightly-lit room and talk about subjects that you are both passionate about. Talk politics and religion! Tell your friend about something they've never done before. Anything that will keep your attention from thinking about sleep.
If you are all by yourself, get on the internet. Rough-draft some Squidoo lenses! Play Tetris or iSketch. "Window" shop and make a list of things you want for Christmas. Don't do anything that requires you to read or think too much. This should pass a surprisingly amount of time.

High-Energy Music to Keep You Awake!
Listening to this music is more likely to keep you moving and staying awake
When you're really feeling it...
Don't give up!
After you've killed a few hours talking to your friend or being on the internet, you're most likely going to be feeling very tired. Don't give up! It's time to take a shower.
Trust me, a shower is going to be the most essential component when it comes to staying up all night.
Make sure you get a shower ONLY when you feel as though you really cannot stay up any longer. When you shower, make sure to use water that's colder than you are usually used to. Take your time while you shower! You want to consume as many minutes as possible. Once you are out, don't be tempted to put on something comfortable. Put on the tightest pair of jeans you own. This will keep you from getting too comfortable and falling asleep.

I don't think I can make it a minute longer!
DO NOT GIVE UP! Unless you are seriously THIS tired and it's still before 2 o'clock in the morning, YOU CAN DO THIS!If you are feeling desperately tired, DO NOT turn on the television or lay down "just for a minute." I promise you, this NEVER works. Once you go horizontal, there is no saving you, and all of your previous efforts were for nothing.
Put music on that usually peps you up. Try eating food or playing with your dog. Go outside and listen to the birds that begin to sing really early in the morning. Sit on the floor and start sorting through old pictures. Just do not lay down! You can make it!
