Pumpkins represents the Fall Season
One of the sure signs of Fall is seeing all of the Pumpkin Patches and the huge containers of pumpkins at the stores.
But really, I believe pumpkins do mean something. They represent that Halloween is approaching. And that means it is time for Trick-Treating, Halloween parties and the aromas of fresh baked pumpkin bread and pies fill just about every household.
This lens is going to be about different ways to utilize your halloween pumpkins and all of the things you can do with them. So I would without a doubt say: Pumpkins do mean something.

Ideas for Pumpkin Decorations
At one of my jobs, every year we would have contest for who decorated the best pumpkin. And every year, I would decorate my pumpkin in the same costume that I was wearing. If I was a clown, I made a clown face on my pumpkin. BUT I would not cut up my pumpkins, I would paint on them. So actually the pumpkin was utilized because it served its purpose in the contest and for decorations, but also for cooking pumpkin for breads, muffins and pies!It really was a family event, because after Halloween, we would all sit at the kitchen table and we would clean out our pumpkins. We saved the Seeds for yummy treats! What you do is wash the seeds in warm water and spread them out to dry. Spray a pan with cooking oil and lay the seeds out in a thin layer on the pan. Salt, and season them with what ever seasonings you like. Bake at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
I would cook and freeze the rest of the pumpkin.

Did we ever accidently throw the goo stuff from inside the pumpkin at each other? Ummm...well, I know there was a lot of accidental flicking of the goo, but of course it was all done accidentally and with love so I will let you decide smiles!

Pumpkins~are you feeling the Fall Season yet?

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, mix together wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water and brown sugar until well blended. Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. Try not to over mix because that will make the bread tuff. Pour into 3-lightly greased loaf pans. Bake for about 55 minutes on 350 degrees.
Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
