Crate Training Your Puppy
Crate training your puppy while it is still young is probably one of the best things you can do. It's a popular misconception that crate training your puppy is cruel and unkind; it is simply just not true. Crate training can be very beneficial to dogs and like any type of dog training, if done in a fun way, dogs can get great enjoyment out of crate training.
Contrary to popular belief, puppy crate training is not difficult. Crate training is important because it helps enforce your dog's natural ability to avoid soiling where they eat and sleep.

Crate Training Your Puppy
continued...
Keeping your puppy locked up in its crate for hours on end is not what crate training is all about. Loving care is needed when crate training your puppy, just as one would expect to be treated by others. Bear in mind that, when crate training is done correctly, it will in rich both the life of the dog and its owner.
When your puppy has an accident and soils its crate, remember it was more than likely unintentional. One should never punish their dogs for this unfortunate behaviour. With out a doubt, crate training is probably the best way to potty train your pup. Potty training older dogs can be problematic, so it can be worth your while tackling this area of training when your dog is young.
It's to be expected that your puppy may bark and whine a lot when you first introduce them to their crate, but as they learn that this is their special place, they will come to love it and feel secure in it, like a child with its favorite blanket.
Start your puppy's crate training slowly. Place your puppy in its crate for only 10 to 15 minutes at a time, then gradually increasing its time to two hours as they get more used to their crate and remember to keep the mood light and fun when crate training your puppy.

Dog Crates
Dog crates can represent a place of security for the dog and provided they have been trained correctly most dogs will use their dog crates with their own free will.
Dog crates are not only handy for transportation but they can also ensure that your dog knows to stay in a particular part of the house or your property at specific times of the day or night.
Obviously there are many different types and styles and sizes of dog crates and you need to get one that is suitable for your animal in the size that it might grow to when it is fully grown.
Some dog crates allow the ability to section off a part of the crate when you have a puppy and remove that section as the dog grows bigger which reduces the cost of buying new dog crates as the dog grows.
Potty Training For Puppy dog
One of the most over looked items when preparing to bring a new puppy dog into a home is potty training. When most people first bring home their new puppy dog they focus on the love & enjoyment their puppy will bring, but without effective potty training this novelty wears off and soon leads to other related problems.
Perhaps, potty training should be the first type of training to be considered for any new puppy dog. The first few months of potty training can be the most trying, but with a little endurance your puppy will come through in the end. Accidents (if any) are rare with older dogs that have been properly potty trained.
Potty accidents should be dealt with in a quite and calm fashion. When potty accidents occur, correct (not punish) your puppy dog and always reward and praise when it goes in the right place.
Puppies tend to have poor bladder control and accidents are common especially at night, but with a bit of persistence and time you and your dog will both be enjoying accident-free nights.
