Puppy Potty Training In A Box - If You HAVE To, It CAN Work

OK, this may sound crazy to you: Puppy Potty Training In A Box - If You Have To?? The reason I'm saying so is, potty training a puppy in a box is less than ideal. The ideal will always have to be outside. It's far better for puppy and even better for you! No litter box to clean every day!

Unfortunately the reality is that some people do not have an option. If you have a toy or small breed dog, you can very successfully do it. So puppy potty training in a box is an option if you work outside the home and there is no one to take puppy for potty breaks.

Puppy Potty Training In A Box - Why Is It Better Than "Wee Wee" Pads Or Newspaper?

You have to remember puppy can not understand the difference between and old newspaper or you new one you still want to read. If you teach him to use a newspaper do not be upset with him if he uses the Sunday paper you still want to read!

"Wee wee" pads seem like good toys to puppy. They are easy to chew and drag around in the house. Puppy will not be able to see what they are meant for!

These two things are also not too specific. They can be moved around and seem to be part of the general household. So, what you will in effect be doing is, teaching puppy to "go" in the house!

So, Puppy Potty Training In A Box, is best if puppy has to "go" inside and it cannot be helped!

Get this right and puppy will be fine while you are at work. It is well worth the little extra trouble.

Puppy Potty Training In A Box %u2013 What You Need To Know

1. A litter box is not suitable for a medium-sized and large breed dog. It is not possible to keep a litter box big enough to be hygienic! So, Puppy Potty Training In A Box is a waste of time for the larger breeds and will only give you problems in the long run.

2. The litter box must have a very definite place where it is. It makes it easy for puppy to know where it is and what it is for. There are now litter boxes all over the house to confuse puppy.

3. A litter box is heavy and cannot be dragged or chewed or shaken so puppy will not mistake it for a toy. This makes sure puppy does not get confused and it prevents a mess.

4. A litter box is easy to maintain. You have to make very sure though that you clean it at least once a day, more often if possible.

5. Make sure you buy a littler box big enough for puppy to use with ease.

6. Check with your vet that the litter you want to use is safe. Not all cat litter is suitable for dogs. Dogs will eat stuff cats won't, so there is a possibility that puppy may decide to take a bite to taste. Make sure the litter is safe for puppy in case he decides to taste it!

Other than these points, puppy potty training in a box is no different from normal puppy potty training.
