Purple Hats

It's all very well buying a purple hat, but what colors go well with purple?

Personally I find that a deep purple and black are a very dramatic combination, lighter shades of purple also go well with both black and white. Grey is also an excellent choice to wear with purple.

Combining the deeper eggplant shade of purple with the neutral shades of beige is a very conservative combination that hints at hidden depths.

Green and purple are a fantastic combination - the deep, bright shades give a very dramatic effect whereas the paler hues create a very summery look.

Pink and purple combine for an especially feminine look.

Blue and purple also go very well together, however red and purple should not be worn together unless you're a woman over a certain age........

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
