Organizing the Purple Stars

What started out as one Purple Star Award lens has turned into a monster - in terms of trying to keep track of where everything is. I decided a little organization was in order.

From here on in, you can consider this one of the lenses to bookmark because it will have a record of everything. Finally, I will only have to go to one lens to add new lenses I feature in my Purple Star Series. Whew!

The greatest part of this is that we will both benefit: we can find things more easily - which means we can devote more time to creating and maintaining our own lenses. It will also be updated immediately as new lenses in the series become published.

As for keeping up with the numerous purple star lenses being featured throughout this series - well, that is something entirely different. There are new lensmasters being added every few days so stay tuned to the award lenses - perhaps selecting a different awards lens to review every week. Then, when you have finished, begin again.

To Clarify

I'm sure you know the name of the artist who creates the Squid characters I feature in my series.

However, just in case you're new and don't know, his name is Steve Thompson. He definitely had no idea he would be seeing so much purple; he didn't anticipate that he would be helping me so much with this series - behind the scenes - by bringing new Squid characters to life.

I will give you the opportunity to visit his lenses a little later.

Purple Star Weekend Challenge

Squidoo hosted a weekend challenge granting all lensmasters the opportunity to nominate, and be nominated, for purple stars - whether the lenses were their own or belonged to someone else.

Furthermore, the names of every lensmaster who received a Purple Star throughout the weekend (May 28 - 31, 2010) was thrown into a hat and a name was randomly drawn. The person whose name was picked would be responsible for selecting the next 20 lenses which would be granted purple stars.
