The Hub for Everything PurrPrints

I keep finding new cool places for the PurrPrints designs, all on different web sites, so I decided to make one central page to introduce myself and provide links to all things PurrPrints. That way you, my I-m-so-glad-you're-here PurrPrints fan (or, if you're new, hopefully soon-to-be-fan), can find everything more easily.

On this page you will find:

(1) Blog updates and Announcements about recent PurrPrints designs, sales, contests, coupons, and other good info.

(2) An introduction to me and how PurrPrints came into being.

(3) Items from the PurrPrints stores: PurrPrints.etsy.com, which has signed art and other handmade goodies; my cafepress shops, where each design has its own storefront with lots of goodies; and zazzle.com/purrprints, which has some cool items I couldn't make elsewhere, like postage stamps.

(4) Links to other interesting stuff, like lenses about the techniques I use or gift-finding for cat lovers, for example.

A PurrPrints Mini-Biography

I've been interested in art for as long as I can remember, probably thanks to my grandmother, who was a very talented painter. While I never developed her love for oil paints, I did become very interested in pen and ink art, especially the technique known as pointillism (or stippling).

I've also loved cats for as long as I can remember; they were among the first "subjects" of my early attempts at art. A few years ago, one of my friends saw the stack of cat drawings I'd been doodling in my notebooks and said she thought my designs were really unusual and something people might want on their walls. I, being super-shy about my work, blushed furiously and stammered a few awkward thank yous, then changed the subject. But the idea quickly took hold, and PurrPrints was born.

Right now I'm working on expanding my artistic techniques and crafting abilities so that I can make more handmade items from my designs. This is why I started PurrPrints.etsy.com this May. It's still small, but it's growing, and I'm hoping to add more unusual cards, hand-drawn bags, and hand-painted pins soon.

I also use the online stores zazzle and cafepress to sell items I couldn't make otherwise, like t-shirts, postage stamps, housewares, and a bunch more.

Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I'll be updating this page as I come up with new designs or items, so check back soon (or use the favorites option on the right--the green star--if you want to get notices automatically). I also love to get feedback, so let me know you were here and what your thoughts are in the guestbook at the bottom of the page.

These are some items from my Floppy Cat store on cafepress. I keep a separate shop for each of my designs; I'm currently in the process of completing all these shops. I keep these stores going because cafepress allows me to put my designs on items I'd never be able to make on my own--though I'm advancing my crafting skills all the time, so maybe one day I'll be able to make all this stuff on my own and sell it on etsy. We'll see :)
