Putting YIPS Cure | Information to Stop Putting Yips in Their Tracks
Finding a putting yips cure that works for you may be one of the most important keys to finally improving the bottom line on your golf game. The putting yips are feared by just about every golfer. Even the most proficient professionals have suffered from the Yips at one time or another, and how you cure them can be as individual as your are.
I know I have suffered from the putting yips for years, and no matter what I was trying, I could not seem to sink even a simple 5 footer. My muscles would twitch, my neck would stiffen, and my brain would start running a mile a minute. Before I knew it, I was frozen over the golf ball, and had no clue what I was wanting to do. Numerous times, a simple short putt turned into a 3 putt, and I have no idea how I even got it in the hole in three strokes.
The putting yips are largely a mental issue, but there are many great things you can do to cure them fast. To see the resource that really helped me cure my yips, please visit ShortPuttCure.info.
Tips for Putting Yips Cure
Try These Tips to Cure Your Putting Yips
- Putt with Your Eyes Closed - A common practice to relax and clear your mind, you can close your eyes after you have lined up and visualized your putt. At that point, with your eyes closed, you are more likely to relax and allow your muscles to work as they should. This technique is best used on the practice green for several sessions before trying out on the course.
- Putt Quicker to Stop the Yips - Instead of taking your time to putt, like most people do, speed up your routine and try not to let your mind start to wonder off the task at hand. Line up your putt, read the break, and then immediately strike the ball. By speeding up your tempo, you can eliminate some of the yips from even occurring.
- Separate Your Hands on Putting Grip - You can separate your hands on your grip by using the saw grip or other common techniques. The concept here is that by creating space between the hands, the muscle twitches are less likely to impact your swing. There are many professional players who have gone to a grip of this type to help clear their mind and relax their bodies to stave off the yips from occurring.

Cure the Putting Yips Permanantly
Less Conventional Putting Yips Cure
As I mentioned, there are many conventional treatment techniques that perhaps you have heard of or tried to get you over the hump of the putting yips, but here is another idea that was new to me when I first read about it.Consider looking at the hole, and not the ball when you putt!
While this sounds a little strange, the concept here is to take your mind off of striking the ball, which can cause yips to appear suddenly, and to focus on something different. When focusing on the cup, you are still reading your line and taking a normal putting stroke, but not allowing your mind to go into full blown panic.
You will still line up according to plan, but then you should take a deep breath, and focus your eyes and head towards the hole, or the path you are wanting to ball to travel (depending on the break). This too will take lots of practice to perfect, but can be a viable solution for you.
