Puzzling Benefits

What could the benefits of puzzling be. Perhaps you like logic, crossword, jigsaw or math puzzles. The enjoyment of these individual or shared pursuits is felt by many, many millions of people who can't wait to do another one.

Firstly there is the fun of anticipating and doing the puzzle. I have left work all ready for a crossword on the train going home. 45 minutes later I was finished and very happy.
Individually you challenge yourself to do the next bit of the puzzle, take on a puzzle that seems outwith your capacity and ultimately stretching your mind. I love the idea that by using this form a mind training you can stay sharp for all of your life. I know my father has done a crossword everyday and he thrives on mental challenge at 78 years old.

In teams and with friends and family there are all the benefits of doing puzzles, but with a huge social boost. This is a chance to have fun, chat, joke, laugh and just love being together. How often have you caught up with family and friends recently? Create a great atmosphere with food and drinks, and have a great time!

Enjoy the success of completing the puzzle. I all areas of our lives having success is a great boost. Happiness and mental strength would seem to increase the more success you have. I love it!

Puzzles are very cheap. Newspapers and online sites carry mases of free puzzles of all types, including the excellent sudoku, math, logic and many other brain teasers. Even buying jigsaws can be pretty cheap, particularly using e-bay.
You can even make your own puzzles, for eaxmple printing jigsaw iamges onto jigsaw paper. You could make up your own math, logic and sudoku puzzles to challenge your friends.

Puzzles can also be very entertaining. A beautiful jigsaw image can be a cartoon to make you laugh, a gorgeous lake scene, and many, many oother images to suit your taste.

Puzzles pass the time very well when travelling. Those of us with jobs which involve a bit of travel can pass lots of airport time quite well indeed.

Puzzles can be done anywhere, including online. One I love is to use MSN messenger to say go and then you complete an online puzzle and try and beat your friends. Use MSN messenger to let everyone know who is finished first.

For kids there are amzing fun and learning. With the right puzzle a child can have hours of fun learning things about animals, cars, animals, alphabet and numbers. Great fun for them too if the adults help out and explain the puzzles.
