PVC, PU, Vinyl, Patent, Leather: What is the difference???
PVC: stands for Polyvinyl Chloride, a type of vinyl material. It is more flexible than patent imitation leather and usually has a smooth, shiny or 'wet-looking' surface on the outside (and sometimes the inside too)
Polyurethane: (or sometimes simply PU) is a type of vinyl with a non-shiny surface or maybe a slightly grainy finish. When used for clothing, it often has a polyester backing for durability and washability. Usually it is machine washable (delicate cycle in cold water) in cold water. Usually not advisable to dry clean.
