The Hauntings at The Queen Mary Hotel

Queen Mary Haunted HotelThe Queen Mary was known during the War World II as the "Grey Ghost" because of it's color and the way it sailed smoothly on water, but today, it's better known for it's ghosts. Queen Mary is supposedly one of the most haunted locations in the world. With more than 49 reported deaths, it's no surprise that many have ghostly encounters.

One of the supposedly ghosts that haunts the Queen Mary is a young crewman, named John Henry, who worked in the engine room 13. He said to be roaming the engine room. You can hear screams and smoke coming out of the room.

During the war, Queen Mary was not only a cruise ship, but also helped the soldiers and cargo. It's been said that one time the Queen Mary had to make a very dangerous turn to stay away from enemy ships, and it slammed right in the middle of another ship. It torn it apart in half and more than 300 soldiers where left to drowned or eaten by sharks. Today many have said that you could hear the banging on the side of the ship, of the lost souls of the 300 or more that died over board.

Another story is the chef who was killed by soldiers who didn't like his food. During the war, there was this chef on board and it's been reported that soldiers stuffed the chef into the oven and burned him alive. You can hear his screams today!

Around the pool room in first class is said to be haunted by two women and a little girl. The two women drowned in 30's and 60's.

Ghostly Encounters: True Stories of America's Haunted Inns and Hotels

A Book On The Lost Souls Of The Haunted Hotel Queen Mary

Wood continues his otherworldly series begun with Ghosts of the Southwest (1997), this time chronicling reports of phantoms from California, Oregon, and Washington. For each location (a variety of hotels, restaurants, homes, ships, prisons, parks, and missions), he provides a history of the site, reports from those purporting to have seen the specter, and accounts of the spirit's supernatural activities. Full-color photos appear on nearly every page; many have been altered so that they seem to include apparitions. Wood makes no effort to discount the reports of his informants or offer rational explanations for these sightings, and some young readers may have difficulty separating fact from fiction., particularly in light of the eerily lit, real-looking photographs. But if you're in the mood for a chilling, can't-put-it-down read, this will hit the spot. Kay Weisman

Ghosts in the pool room at The Queen Mary

Queen Mary Haunted HotelThe pool room in first class is the favorite location to investigate for many who visit the Queen Mary. It's supposedly been haunted by two women and a little girl. The two women, one drowned in the early 30's and the other in the 60's.

The little girl who is supposedly haunting the pool room and dressing room died of a broken neck.

Paranormal investigators said that you could see the little girl around the pool looking for her mommy. She likes to sing and play.

Peter James Psychic Medium from Ghost Encounters

Abord on The Queen Mary

queen mary hotelHis first Paranormal adventure began many years ago in Rochester, New York. At eight years old, this was to be the place of his first ghost encounter. These early experiences were to become the personal foundation upon which all psychic abilities were developed. The apartment at that time was very old and quite paranormally active. Thirty five years prior to personally occupying the dwelling was an intense fire that claimed the lives of three young children. These three children became his ghost playmates for nearly three years. He believed the broad range of psychic abilities personally possessed is due to his early experiences with these children. Today, he is best known worldwide for his ability to communicate with those that have passed on.

Over the years, He was fortunate enough to appear regularly on a host of nationally and internationally televised programs. Among the most personally satisfying appearances to date, is being featured in forty four episodes of FOX Television and Sci-Fi Channel's hit series, "Sightings". The series lasted eight seasons and has turned millions of skeptics into believers.

His investigative work aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California began in 1991. A full length DVD of a team investigations around the luxury liner was released in October of 2006.

Peter James passed away in July of 2007 from a heart attack. He will be missed!

    Hi,

I was on The Queen Mary maybe 12 years ago or so. No one ever told me it was haunted. The one thing i do remember was the rooms were really small for being a luxury liner.

I went to the Queen Mary and I did not feel good inside the rooms. On deck was ok. It's a spooky place for sure. But it was a really fun day with my kids and my parents and I'll never forget it.

Been to the Queen Mary, it was very eerie walking through the long hallways! My boyfriend and I explored the entire ship hoping to spot something in our photos. As I walked up the outer deck stairway and into the captain's steering room I glanced to the back of the room
And spotted some men dressed in white uniforms. Thinking I was in an unauthorized area of the ship, I quickly left through the entrance where I entered. After i confirmed in my mind that these men had given me a strange feeling, I charged back up to the room again, not even 3 seconds later and they were completely gone. Normally I would have discarded this as being actual employees of the ship, but there being only one entrance to this room, I would have seen them enter or exit. I know what I saw and felt at that moment!

What an elegant lady she was, and is, and what a distinguished history she had. Including honouable service in the Second World War. I would be surprised if some of that history was not alive and well on the this magnificent ship.

This is a really great lens. I was watching Ghost Hunters for a while because I like that the guys are so calm and matter of fact. Some of the other shows scare me too much. The really ironic thing about it is, I'm a medium. Dead people do talk to me. But they are related to someone I'm talking to and I think they are at much higher level than ghosts are. I'm clairsentient and clairaudient which means I feel and hear (in my mind) them. Not sure I could handle seeing things that aren't really there.

Some of the EVPs and video footage really scares me. I can't imagine what being on something like the Queen Mary would be like for me.

I think my aunt and perhaps my grandparents traveled to Europe on the Queen Mary. I'll have to find out for sure now.
