Aishwarya Rai, the queen of Bollywood cinema
Unfamiliar to many in the United States, Aishwarya Rai has caused a stir in Bollywood for years.
She's starred in well over 50 films and is highly desirable in Bollywood and Hollywood. Her top grossing film was Devdas and she was in the Hollywood hits Pink Panther 2 and Last Legion.
Rai won the Miss World competition in 1994 and 60 Minutes hailed her as "The Most Beautiful Face in the World."
And, according to most, she is the Queen of Bollywood.

The Queen of Bollywood - She is now married to Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan. The wedding took place on 20 April 2007.
- Rai made her acting debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Iruvar (1997) with Mohanlal and was introduced to Bollywood in the film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya opposite Bobby Deol, which also released that year.
- She can speak several languages, including Tulu, Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil. While pursuing her studies in architecture, Rai began modeling on the side.
- Recently Rai is back to Tamil film industry working with Rajinikanth for the movie Endhiran, directed by Shankar who earlier worked with her in Jeans, which also fetched her the first Filmfare award. She is also co-starring with the Tamil hero Vikram in a Mani Ratnam film which is also simultaneously made in Hindi with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.
