Playful Pinwheels - Quilt Celebration 2009
Quilt Celebration is an annual quilt show put on by the Quilt Guild of Dallas. The theme for the 2009 show is Playful Pinwheels. It runs March 13-15 and is a great place to learn with lectures and demonstrations, as well as be inspired by all the beautiful quilts.

2008 Judges: Bobbie Aug
About BobbieBobbie Aug is a nationally known teacher and lecturer from Colorado. She has taught and lectured at The International Quilt Festival, The American Quilter's Society Show and many others. She has co-authored eight books, including String Quilts With Style, Charm Quilts With Style, Vintage Quilts and Quilt Blocks X Nine.
Bobbie is a certified Quilt Appraiser, co-administrator of the Appraisal Certification Committee for AQS and a member of The Colorado Quilting Council, American Quilt Study Group, International Quilter's Association, The National Quilter's Association and several other guilds. In addition to being a contemporary quiltmaker and collector, Bobbie colects antique quilts and is a full-time quilt scholar.

2008 Judges: Cynthia England
About Cynthia England\Cynthia England is a graduate of the Art Institute of Houston and has been creating quilts for more than thirty years. Experimentation with quilting techniques led her to develop her own unique style "Picture Piecing."Cynthia's quilts have been honored with many awards, including two Best of Shows at the prestigious International Quilt Association. Her quilt, "Piece and Quiet" was distinguished as one of the Hundred Best Quilts of the 20th Century.
Cynthia teaches and lectures nationally and internationally. In addition, she is the designer and owner of England Design Studios which is a publishing/pattern company which specializes in the "Picture Piecing" technique. She has over 50 patterns that use this technique.

2008 Judges: Scott Murkin
Scott Murkin, M.D., is a Family Practice and Occupational Medicine specialist from North Carolina. Originally from a quilting family in Illinois, he currently designs original quilts for the bed and wall.
Scott exhibits nationally and internationally, has his textile artworks in prestigious public and private collections and has had his quilts appear in numerous publications including American Quilter, Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, Quiltmaker, Quilting Quarterly, and Great American Quilts.
Scott is an NQA Certified Quilt Judge who has judged throughout the country, including American Quilter's Society and International Quilt Association shows In addition to judging quilt shows, he enjoys doing programs and workshops for guilds, festivals and quilt shops.
