Fiber Art in the Mail

Imagine making a 4 x 6 inch sized quilt and sending it in the mail! That's what this lens is about. This crafty project is for when you want to make something with fabric but you don't have a lot of time to make anything substantial. You put a piece of felt or interfacing in between two layers of fabric and then embellish them with stitches. These days the post office has gotten so particular I don't know if you could really send them as is, but you could put them in an envelope and send them that way.

Crystal Clear Envelopes - A-6 Size

For mailing your postcards in...

If you've embellished your card with beads or embroidery that may catch on something, it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and mail it in one of these clear sleeves. You may have to put labels on them with the addresses and you'll have to pay First Class, even though they are postcard size. I use these envelopes, though, and really like them.

Dawn Heese finds success as professional quilter
By the end of the book the readers have a quilt. "I get my inspirations for making fabric and books from individual antique pieces," Heese said. "My fabric line stemmed from a vintage postcard and served as a kicking off point.
Outward bound
Today's compartments, or state cabins, I should say, are snug bowers of old-style charm with marquetry panels, tartan carpets, well-cushioned and cotton-quilted single beds that are dressed as couches by day, and small vases of thistles.
