Every year several fortunate locations host THE sale of sales - the Vera Bradley deep discount sale. With a group of friends, my daughter, Kelly, spent hours at this hallowed event. Here is what she told me:
"The Cobb County Convention Center is HUGE. The sale started a few hours before we arrived. When we entered the hall, we got a program explaining what Vera Bradley items were in FIVE enormous rooms. Oh my goodness, it was a Quilted Sisters paradise!
My Newport Navy Hipster was filled with cash and shopping lists from friends back at school. Then I had my own list for my Mom and sister and of course, Christmas shopping.
There were rooms with purses, tote bags, accessories,home items - it was almost too much to take in. And when you saw something you wanted, you better grab it fast. These women were hard core shopping.
We stood in line for a long time to check out but it was fun comparing what everyone found. I laughed at how many women complained that they were only allowed to purchase Two Thousand Dollars worth of Vera Bradley items.
The bargains were unbelievable. My Mom was so happy with the peacock pattern silk scarf that I got for her for only four dollars. Amazing. And there's more, but I can't say because some things are gifts.
If you are near next year's Vera Bradley discount sale, you absolutely have to go. Rent a van, pack it with Quilted Sisters and wear really comfortable shoes because this is hard core shopping but it's so worthwhile." Kelly

A purse is a mobile makeover unit. During a busy day, it feels good to brush the hair back into place, touch up blush, dab on concealer as needed and add a fresh touch of lipstick.
A purse is a coupon caddy/note holder. My "everyday" purse must have a small pocket or corner for coupons, lists, etc.
A purse is a portable office with cell phone, day planner or electronic organizer, pens, checkbook and business cards.
A purse is the place for emergency supplies like tissue, lip balm, eye drops, aspirin and nail clippers.
A purse is a style expression of the woman. When the purse matches or blends with the outfit, the total look says "woman who pays attention to details." The big, Mom purse that takes two hands to lift says, "grown up Girl Scout, always prepared".
