Quilting - Hobby, Passion , Obsession - or All Three?

Among my many hobbies, passions, obsessions - call them what you will - is Quilting.  I love Monday afternoons because that's when I go to my Quilting Group and we sit together, sew and natter about this that and nothing much at all.   Then we get Tea and Cake as well - Bliss.

This lens will be all about Quilting and my fellow quilters.  Why not join in with the current poll and tell me what your favourite is or put a comment in the Guest Book and let us know what you are working on.

What Do You Do When You Are Quilting

We can all Multi Task - what's your choice?

Very few of us just do one thing at a time - relaxation time is at a premium for me so I like to listen to Audio Books when I'm Quilting, two of my favourite things at the same time - now if I can just work in the Chocolate.......

What I'm working on

The latest project and how it's going

I am currently working on a Snowball Quilt to keep me warm in the car - my dearly beloved likes to keep the temperature in the car absolutely freezing which doesn't do me any good at all so I thought I would make a Quillow. The general idea is that the quilt will fold up and go into a slip cover and be a cushion on the back seat when not in use to keep my legs warm! I have machine pieced the grey snowballs with red corners and put a black edging on. I am currently hand quilting a motif into the snowballs, using black thread and will use red thread on the borders. The colours were chosen because the car is black/grey and the red (which has a gold print on it) just lightened the whole thing - quite striking I think.

The photo shows one block (there are twenty four in all) which gives the general impression.....if you want to know how to get the images on your lens to look like this with the white framing check out How To Squidoo for lots of ideas on jazzing up your lens.
