Is Quiting Your Job and Making Money From Home Your Goal?
Having a business plan is one of the most important things to think about if you want to Quite Being a Wage Slave and quit your job to make money online. If you already have an idea to make money you are far a head of the herd. Most people know they want to make money, and they know they don't want to be a "Wage Slave" any longer, (stuck in a job they hate) but most don't know what they want to do or how to do it.
Stay Away from Get Rich Schemes
There is no way that this will happen. The people that have made six figure incomes are the ones that have been working hard at it for years and have built huge lists of 5,000 or more that they can send out their pre-launch information to. A Newbie, or beginner, will not be able to do this.
If you are gullible enough to fall for one of the MLM programs out there, or the pyramid schemes, well you won't make gazillion dollars with them in 30 days, either.
You will be making them a lot of money though!
Think about it...
$1,000,000 a year divided by 365 days in a year....
Do the math....
You would have to make $2739.73 everyday!
How much per day are you making now?
Building a home business takes skills, work, dedication, and focus!
The good news is that you can do it....
You can build a home business over time, once you learn how, but it won't be over night!

Quit Being A Wage Slave In 10 Easy Steps
Make Money Online For Beginners
You don't always have to know everything about a subject before you actually jump in and start doing it as long as you have a goal and the right mindset. If you have the ability to read and write, you can research any subject and learn all about it just by reading the information that you find in your research.
There are a lot of different ways to make money online, but none of them are going to make you a gazillion dollars in a week, or a month, or maybe not even a year. Most of the "get rich" stuff that you find online only makes the program owner money, not the poor sap that is buying into the hype.
That is one of the reasons why doing your diligent research is so important. You need to be armed with some knowledge to be able to make a clear and intelligent choice prior to getting sucked into a "make a gazillion dollar" program.
If you discover a system that is set up to give you the necessary knowledge, help and support that you need, to get a business going and to make money, you then will have something that you can certainly work with.
Use your head and don't just jump in feet first to any program that is making unrealistic claims. Keep in mind that old adage that says, "If it sound too good to be true it usually is".
Before making a decision take a good hard look at it and ask yourself these questions.
1. Do I need a website?
Yes you do; a website or a blog. If it says you don't, you will not have a business.
2. Do I need to do any work?
If it says you don't, they are lying. No one is going to give you money for nothing. You have to work to earn a living. You can give them your money and make them money by doing so, but that is all you will get...making them rich and you poor.
3. Can I really make millions in a week?
What do you really think? You know in your mind that NO ONE has really made millions in a weeks time. It has taken time, effort and focus to start seeing the checks arrive.
Once you do come across a system that you are capable of following, that you can learn how to do, then stick with it. Focus on your work and don't get side tract by the latest and greatest new thingy out there.
When you get your system set up and running, you will then be able to expand on it and grow with it, as it blossoms into a lucrative business. As it grows you will learn more and you will be able to make the necessary changes that are required to keep it growing and keep earning more money.

5 Steps to Building an Online Business
Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail
Step #1 - Make a Plan
You need to make a plan about what it is that you want to do online. "I don't know, I just want to make money", I can hear you whine. If you don't know what you want to do, you must figure that out before you can do anything. You need to make a business plan about one thing, set a goal and work on this one plan from creation through completion. You might want to add your advertising goals to your basic plan and figure out your finances as to how you are going to pay for your business start up.
Write down all of your ideas on paper.
Write down every idea that you can think of no matter how silly you may think it is. Go through you list and pick the three that you like the best. When you have picked three, write them down on a separate piece of paper. Do your research to find which one of the three is the best idea. Take that idea and begin on your plan to make this idea succeed.
Jumping from one idea to another will not help you. It will only slow you down because you will never accomplish one goal. Once you have accomplished the first plan and goal, only then can you begin another idea.
Step #2 - Get an Education
The only way that you can become an authority on any subject online is because you are one. If you are not you need to get an education to become an authority. After all, if you don't know your stuff, whose going to pay attention to you?
For example, you want to be a travel writer and publish your travel articles both on line and off line. This is your goal, but you don't know where to begin. Research your idea by reading how to books by other travel writers. If your writing techniques are not very good, take a creative writing class or a journalism course at your local university to upgrade your writing skills.
If your computer skills are not up to par, take an adult night class to get them up to speed. If you try to learn computer skills as you go, while trying to make money online at the same time, it will only frustrate the heck out of you.
Step #3 - Set Up Your Work Area
Get a business license. You will need to get your tax license in order, get someone to handle your bookkeeping records, talk to a business attorney to find out what you need legally for your business.
Get a business phone. If you are on dial up for the Internet, get a broadband connection. You can not operate a business online with dial up. Consider getting business cards. These are all things that need to be done for your business.
Step #4 - Start Working
Get your website built, your graphics in order, set up your blog, and get your advertising in place. Set up a merchant account or payment processor so that you will be able to take payments online. Attend forums that are related to the business you have chosen and participate in them to become an online presence within that business circle.
Leave a link to the website and the blog that you have set up in your signature at the forums.
Step #5 - Focus & Discipline
It is very easy to get side tracked when you are working at home. If you have a business plan written out, then this can become your daily schedule to help keep you focused and on track. Have a list of what you must do on a daily bases and stick to it. Set a specific time to accomplish each task you have listed. When the task has been completed cross it off the list. It is a very satisfying feeling of accomplishment when you have crossed everything off of the list for day.
If you are unable to complete everything on the daily list, add what you didn't finish to the next days list. Do a self evaluation as to why you were unable to accomplish the daily goals and make adjustments.
Read your business email first thing, in case you need to add something pressing to your list. Read your business email before you end your work day to add any thing of important to the next days schedule.
Don't read your personal email during the time you have scheduled for your work time as it can interfere with your work and distract you. Don't get side tracked by the latest and greatest things online that do not relate to your business. Once you get side track it can be difficult to get back on course to work your business.
Try not to let your personal fire drills interfere with your work schedule. If it means that you have to put a "do not disturb" sign on your office door for a few hours a day then so be it. Do whatever it takes to keep your attention focused where it should be.
Now that you have the basic steps for beginning an online business, what are you waiting for? Start making that plan. It won't happen by itself. You are the one that has to do it.
Business Plan Basics
Courtesy of Palo Alto Software, Inc.
The best way to show bankers, venture capitalists, and angel investors that you are worthy of financial support is to show them a great business plan. Make sure that your plan is clear, focused and realistic. Then show them that you have the tools, talent and team to make it happen. Your business plan is like your calling card, it will get you in the door where you'll have
to convince investors and loan officers that you can put your plan into action.
Once you have raised the money to start or expand your business, your plan will serve as a road map for your business. It is not a static document that you write once and put away. You will reference it often, making sure you stay focused and on track,
and meet milestones. It will change and develop as your business evolves.
Do I need a business plan?
Not everyone who starts and runs a business begins with a business plan, but it certainly helps to have one. If you are seeking funding from a venture capitalist, you will certainly need a comprehensive business plan that is well thought out and contains sound business reasoning.
If you are approaching a banker for a loan for a start-up business, your loan officer may suggest a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan, which will require a business plan. If you have an existing business and are approaching a bank for
capital to expand the business, they often will not require a business plan, but they may look more favorably on your application if you have one.
Reasons for writing a business plan include:
- Support a loan application
- Raise equity funding
- Define and fix objectives and programs to achieve those
objectives - Create regular business review and course correction
- Define a new business
- Define agreements between partners
- Set a value on a business for sale or legal purposes
- Evaluate a new product line, promotion, or expansion
What's in a business plan?
A business plan should prove that your business will generate enough revenue to cover your expenses and make a satisfactory return for bankers or investors.
- Executive Summary--features the highlights of your plan and
sells your idea in two pages or less. - Company Summary--a factual description of your company, ownership, and history.
- Products (or Services or both)--describes your products and/or services and how they stand out from competitive products and services.
- Market Analysis-provides a summary of your typical customers,
competitive landscape, market size, and expected market growth. - Strategy and Implementation-describes how you will sell your product, how you will put your plan into action, and establishes milestones.
- Management Summary-provides background on the management team, their experiences, and key accomplishments.
- Financial Plan-contains key financial's including sales, cash
flow, and profits.
What makes a successful business plan?
- A well thought out idea
- Clear and concise writing
- A clear and logical structure
- Illustrates management's ability to make the business a
success - Shows profitability

Research Is A Necessity of Life with Online Marketing
You need to research to find out what information other people are looking for. If you think that racing Rhodesian Ridgebacks is the greatest sport going, it won't matter if there isn't any type of following for this sport.
To begin your research for your fabulous idea you can use WordTracker, which is a free online research tool. If you don't have the money to invest in a better research tool, it will suit its purpose, but it is not very accurate.
What I use is Micro Niche Finder. I have never regretted the money I invested in this tool. It has saved me tons of research hours and has come through every time in locating lesser known niche markets. It shows what information people are searching for so that I can provide that information.
