Just Start Simple!

Many people get confused when they first try to create some extra income on the Internet. This happened to me 6 years ago. I've tried to work too hard, to learn too much, and to be too good in what I did. Now, you can learn from my mistakes and avoid wasting your precious time while trying to rediscover things that were already known and applied.

This happened because my mentors, instructors, and their manuals told me many things that I really didn't need at the beginning. I'm not saying it's not good information. It's just not necessary information when you're first starting out. You don't need to get too complicated just to get a stream of cash flowing. This doesn't mean it's easy, but it has to be as simple as possible.

I was too fixated on details but now I know that the first thing that you put online (product, service, affiliate program, etc.) doesn't have to be a complete and perfect system. It just needs to be something of good value and quality.

There are at least two options for you as a beginner in online business: choose a good affiliate program (or a reseller program), or create your own info product (ebook).

Keep it Simple with Associate Programs

Most of students and young netpreneurs who are spending time online will choose an affiliate program or a reseller program, as My Power Mall, because of very low or even zero cash investment required. If you choose to join an associate (affiliate) program and sell affiliate product or service, here's what you should do:

1. Choose the right affiliate program.

Choosing the right affiliate program isn't an easy task, but I can help you by revealing what worked for me. I got money by selling "The Affiliate Allstar" and "MyPowerMall".

The Affiliate Allstar is a ebook about Internet marketing and it has an affiliate program for site visitors, so you don't need to buy the product from them, as I did. However, in my opinion it's better to know what you're going to sell; this is why I usually buy or ask for a bonus product before joining an affiliate program. Some vendors will offer you their product as a bonus, but you must show that you've a strategy and you're able to sell their product.

My Power Mall gives you a shopping mall and a website, without the pain of having to pay any fees. My Power Mall makes a difference by devoting a percentage of its corporate profits to helping children through its "One-Child-At-A-Time" program. By joining it for free you're a contributor to this worthwhile cause and also make money simply by doing what you do anyway - shopping for the daily needs of your family.

2. Write the sales letter.

You can do it yourself or pay someone else. Even if it's not great, you need to have a sales letter. Some people prefer to do this before they even create the ebook. Click here to view a sample sales letter!

3. Create a blog.

Some time ago you'd need a Web site to put your sales page on, to register a domain name, and to pay at least $6.95 per year to do this, and a Web hosting account for as little as $5.99 a year. You also should design your Web pages, pay someone else to do it or use a template. Today you don't need it because we have Web 2.0 technologies developed! Most of New Internet and social networking sites offer free membership. Post your sales letter on blogs, or on business networking sites, such as: Squidoo or APSense.

If you don't have a blog, you've few good choices by joining free Blogger.com or business and social networking sites, such as: BizPreneur, Lazzeo, Ojees, or Home Biz Space. On these sites you have the possibility to network, submit your profile, and communicate with members, write blogs and post comments.

4. Place affiliate links.

Place affiliate links on your sales letter and start promoting your blog, Squidoo Lenses, or APSense pages.

5. Get targeted traffic.

Without traffic your pages, blogs, articles, and excellent sales letters may reside for years on the Web and nobody will buy something from you. About getting traffic to your blogs, sites, or networking pages I'm writing a free report now, so if you wish to receive it when it will be published, you can join http://www.nosecretmarketing.com

Keep it Simple with Creating Your Own Product

If you want to create an ebook, then here's what you need to do... First of all, I assume that you are familiar with a niche and you've already done your research. Also, you know that there's a ready market for your ebook, so you wouldn't even consider doing this if you didn't already know who your customers were going to be.

1. Create your ebook.

You can write it yourself, or you can pay someone else (a ghost-writer) to write it for you.

2. Write the sales letter.

Again, you can do it yourself or pay someone else. Click here to view a sample sales letter!

3. Create a Web site.

Create a site to put your sales page on it, register a domain name (pay at least $6.95 per year to do this), choose a Web hosting account. You also should design your Web pages, pay someone else to do it, or use a free template (search Google to find free templates).

4. Choose a Payment Processor.

Arrange some way for people to pay you. This can be as simple as a Paypal account, but I would recommend something more professional looking, like Clickbank, or Plimus in order to handle your order processing. Details about order processors you'll find on Paypal's and Clickbank's Web sites or by subscribing to my ezine: http://www.nosecretmarketing.com

5. Get traffic to your Web site.

We have Web 2.0 technologies developed! Most of New Internet and social networking sites offer free membership. Post your sales letter on a blog, or on business and social networking sites, such as: Squidoo or APSense. If you don't have a blog, you've few good choices by joining business and social networking sites, such as: BizPreneur, Lazzeo, Ojees, Home Biz Space, or Ryze. On these sites you have the possibility to write blogs and post comments.

That's it. Once you have all of that, you can actually start selling your ebook. Just put your sales page up and include a link to your order processor. After a purchase, customers should be automatically sent back to the page where they can download the ebook. Of course, there's a lot more you can do to make this system even better. But this is all you need to get started.

Once you have your product or service online you must pay a lot (paid advertising), or spend a lot of time to get traffic to your site. No traffic, no sales, no income... So, you MUST find a way to get traffic to your site or blog.

As I said, about getting traffic to your blogs, sites, or networking pages I'm writing a free report, so if you wish to receive it when it will be published, you can join http://www.nosecretmarketing.com

After the "Simple" Steps...

After you followed the 5 simple steps, you can think about doing things like...

- Set up an autoresponder to capture email addresses and give people multiple chances to purchase from you. You don't have to do it right from the start if you don't want to, but you can use the autoresponder to follow up with customers and prospects.

- Test again and again: get a split testing script and test different headlines, offers, prices, everything. Improve what you see that works well.

- Track where your sales are coming from. Find out which ads pull the best. If you use PPC (paid advertising, like Google AdWords), track which keywords are leading to sales. All of this will allow you to stop spending money and time on those things that don't work and improve those things that do.

- Add more and better bonuses, incentives and freemiums to your offer.

- After having an effective sales page, go to free social networking sites and find people to cooperate with.

- Find or create quality back end products and services to sell to your existing customers.

- Create a content site.

These are just a few suggestions, but it can go on forever. The important point is that you should concentrate on getting something going to get started. Don't worry too much about making it great before you make it at all. Just get a simple system going and then take it from there.
